Well, I see that I joined Breitlingsource.com in 2007. I had started my search for a watch to replace my 1997 Colt SuperOcean. Being mostly a bracelet guy, the PRO I bracelet had gone on the watch, and there just was to be no way it could be replaced.
Breitlingsource is the first watch forum I joined.
Now, six years and many, many watches later, I will soon have just two. My Speedy and my Aqua Terra "Skyfall":

The Speedmaster Pro 3750.50 or "Moonwatch" is about as close as you can get to the original Omega worn on the moon. It has the manual wind movement, of course updated and modified from the original, and the hesalite crystal. Still the same basic watch as when it was first introduced in 1957.
The Aqua Terra, on the other hand, is one of the newest models. The 8500 inhouse movement, which was introduced a few years ago, built entirely around the Co-Axial escapement, is incredibly accurate. Since I got the watch, about 10 days ago, it has been accurate to +2 sec/day. I have never had a watch that accurate since new. Funnily enough, the Speedy is just as accurate, with the manual wind 1861 movement!
I won't go into a lot of detail on the movements, my knowledge is very limited, and there are many other posts and threads that can explain a lot better than I can.
When the Omega Boutique opened in 2009, I thought it would be only temporary for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, so I felt that I must buy something. That's when I got the gents ring shown in the pics. One of my favourite rings, and it too has a history for me!
I was really looking for an "If you could have only one watch..." when I got the AT, and had thought of selling all my watches but the AT. I don't think I can part with the Speedy, though.
My other 2 watches, a 36mm Rolex Explorer I and a fairly new Cartier Tank Solo (quartz) will be sold. I am just at the point where I really have to be careful with the amount I spend on watches. I have bought and sold many, and of course most I bought new, so I did take a beating when I sold them. No regrets though, just that I can't afford to do that any more. I just feel very fortunate that I could do it, and it really has provided a ton of excitement in my life.
Sorry to ramble on. Since I haven't been here for a while, just thought I would update on where I stand at the moment.
Thanks for reading.
Cheers,
Carl
