Can any of you tell me something about this watch. I took it in a private pawn from a buddy who has now told me to keep it. I have little into it. As you can see it has all the Rolex stuff on it but also says "Tudor." The oyster bracelet does not have solid end links. I suspect at least the head is somewhat old. No box or papers so I haven't a real clue about it. Any thoughts?

While I'm no expert, I know of no watch which has both Rolex and Tudor on the dial. Is there any writing or inscription on the back? Suspicious at least for dial refinishing or replacement. I would run it by the folks at TRF, though.

I just found this, but who is to say - I have virtually nothing into it, so nothing to lose. I think I'll just let Ganem take it on consignment. They'll figure it out.

Just cracked the caseback. It is a Tudor signed ETA movement. Glad I only have $500 in it. I'd keep it but for the stupid diamonds.

That is bizarre. Never seen that before. With the Tritium dial it's unlikely as you say to have SELs. Might actually be a Tudor with a "Rolex" redial???

Heck no! I almost never post there. Those guys would eat me alive like he trolls who come here for an opinion on the watch they "found" in their "uncle's nightstand."

The bracelet is a genuine Rolex Oyster and the gold is real, not plated as I discovered with a little effort on one of the underside links.

I'll just put it away in my nightstand and someday my nephew can "find" it. :)

Hi Sharkman,

I'm a Rolex AD and looking at your picture I do have some doubts about the Oyster Bracelet. First of all, Rolex introduced Everose only in the watches with the solid bracelets as far as I know. As you said the links aren't solid; I believe the bracelet is not original. If you look at the lock of the watch, is there a system to extend the bracelet a little bit? All steel/Everose bracelets should have this Easy Link Clasp as it is called. Also, the "connection" with the casing does'nt seem Rolex to me. The Rolex crown on the dial stands to high in my opinion and as said before; there has never been the name Tudor on a Rolex dial.

W.

By the way, I just looked at the picture again. It says Date on the dial. It's a Datejust that they make in this combination. Date does not exist in this combo...

The color is off in the pic - it is yellow gold. The watch is clearly a redone Tudor with a Tudor signed ETA movement. The crown may be part of the "modifications." The point is, someone took a perfectly fine Tudor and ruined it! People are stupid, but as I have only a $300 pawn I'll hold it on the off chance my friend comes up with a few hundred and asks if he can have his "Rolex" back.
