Sorry, guys, it seems I only come back to share a new watch with you!

The Omega Boutique has become a very enjoyable part of my life, so please indulge me with a few words of appreciation:

Since opening in 2009 for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, the Omega Boutique at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver has been my favourite downtown destination. Each visit is a wonderful experience, and I feel like a friend rather than a client. One might think that visiting such a boutique in a high end hotel at the most prestigious intersection in the city might be rather intimidating. Not so. No pretense or snobbery here. In fact, the most down-to-earth, friendly, knowedgable and helpful group of people you could find in any retail establishment. The individual and collective product knowledge is commendable.

I am very happy that the Boutique is such a success. It opened only temporarily, for the course of the Winter Games and became such a success that it has now expanded. No wonder. I have purchased three watches there, plus my prized Omega Mens Ring, and would not consider getting an Omega anywhere else.

The Seamaster Aqua Terra 38.5mm midsize with the blue dial, or the Skyfall Aqua Terra, has been the number one watch on my list since it was introduced in November, 2012. I was shown the watch the same week that the first one arrived at the Boutique, without the knowledge that it was to be worn by Daniel Craig in Skyfall. I suppose that makes it a bit more special. Skyfall or not, it is my idea of the ideal watch.

For the past year or so, I have been searching for what would likely be my one and only gold watch. When I saw this Aqua Terra, I was so impressed that I began to question my need for a gold watch. This Aqua Terra is suitable for any occasion. I simply like to have this watch more than any other. Even if I had unlimited budget, this watch would still be an important part of my collection.

Since picking up the watch last Friday, I have been so far unable to post any decent photos as my camera battery went dead. Thanks to the kindness and effort of my friend Sasan, a Sales Associate at the Boutique, I am able to post some good photos courtesy of his iPhone. These are even more special to me since they were taken by him at the Boutique:

The AT is a great "one watch" option, and the blue looks alternately calm and vibrant with the light. BTW, I've always liked your signature block/avatar. Very Cool.

Thanks for all of your welcome comments, guys! I always feel badly when just coming back to show off a new watch or try to sell one. This forum has been a very joyful place for me for so long.

Thanks for the comments. I made the avatar when I had my Seawolf with the yellow dial. Actually, I keep going back to the Breitling website and glancing at the Seawolfs. I already had two, though, and sold them both, so I guess that tells me something. Or maybe....third time lucky?!

Great pictures. I'm not much of an Omega fan but I do like the layout of the store and there are a few employees there who are really friendly. I do enjoy dropping in a few times a year.

Maybe I should clarify the "Skyfall", as some may think it's a Special or a Limited Edition. It is more of an "affectionate" term for this particular AT. When it first came out, in Nov 2012, I was shown it by a Sales Associate at the Boutique. I happened to be looking at an Orbis Hour Vision Special Edition, which has a blue dial.

Anyway, a week or so later, I found out that it is one of the watches Daniel Craig wears in the movie. And it is only available in the midsize, or 38.5mm size. I don't know whether or not it will be introduced in the larger size later on, that is with the blue dial.

Skyfall or not, I fell in love with it. I was also sent an invitation by the Omega Boutique to a prescreening of Skyfall, so it does give the watch a more special meaning for me in that sense.

Sexy piece of hardware you have there! I have been lusting after an Omega AT 8500 for quite a while! Such a versatile watch with all the small details noted in the finishing.

I have been lusting after the grey or teak dial 42mm for a while but these pics make a 38.5 loo like a viable option.

I had the large size a couple of years ago. I did love the grey dial. But I found the case size too big. Not really on my wrist, which is 7.5in, but I just liked the proportion of the smaller case size better. I like this size a lot. Matter of fact, if I had the bucks, I would likely buy the same thing with the grey dial, but that just isn't gonna happen.

It's a nice change to have the smaller size, when the other watch I wear is the Speedmaster. That's 42mm, and if I didn't like the watch so much, I would sell it because it's a bit large for my taste.

A friend of mine has a midsize AT 8500 (black dial version) and, apart from the size which is too small for me, it's very difficult to find fault with it. The finishing is superb, and the 8500 is deadly accurate and AFAIK it's a realiable beast (certainly my Ploprof is), with some of the nicest decorative finishing on the movement that you'll see in that price range.

Omega are really making all the right noises these days, and IMO they have opened up a pretty significant gap with Breitling who historically were always pretty much like-for-like competitors.
