Hi All,

I've been snowed under with all aspects of my life recently. However, I found a bit of free time recently and wrote an article I've wanted to put together for sometime.

Hublot are a difficult brand to come to terms with to start off with, and they could never be pigeon-holed.

Hopefully, this article will initiate those who have an interest in such timepieces.

One little warning: This article is 5500+ words long with a lot of images. It takes about 30 minutes to read.

Any feedback on the write-up and your thoughts on Hublot would be gratefully received.

Spooky: a colleague at lunch was asking me if I knew anything about Hublot, to which the answer was no. Will read this with interest Ricardo, thanks.

A very good read as ever. I don't myself like the designs at all, but it's a very interesting commercial / historical story.

I've liked their designs, but the price you pay for what they are... I can pass for now. And if you do go in-house, it becomes AP money. And at that pricepoint, I'd rather go AP.

After 7 Breitling's I got a Hublot... wish I could go back in time and have chosen quality over quantity from the beginning.

not that big an effort when it is plagiarized. and yes taking paragraphs of work like from Wikipedia but moving some words around doesn't make it your own work.

Still, at least you're not grumpy about it. I wouldn't want that. (That's irony by the way and all my own words).

If it makes you feel any better this article, including the afore mentioned research (plagiarisation if it makes you feel better), photography, editing, writing, proof reading, uploading, etc, took me well over 20 of my own hours to complete.

Now, is that better?

I wonder, if I hadn't acknowledged my gratitude to Wikipedia for the research on about 300 words of the 5500 total, would you have known?

Great article and pics Ricardo. Watches aren't for me, but certainly respect what they have achieved.

Regardless of whether certain readers prefer "plagiarism" as a description it's inaccurate because you can't plagiarise when you acknowledge the source

Actually I have to thank SeanRob for his rather, well ...... can't think of a printable classification, all would be quite unfriendly and against forum netiquette, so I'll only call it unnecessary - plagiarism comment, without that I might have missed to read it; a huge amount of work, congrats !

No surprise here - none of the watches "speak to me", I'm much too conservative and old fashioned for this (friendly people call it a "taste for classic icons"), but I enjoyed reading it immensely.

Should you ever find the time - there are many attempts at writing a Breitling history, none good, you might give that a try ?

a short note: do a search/replace for "materpiece", afraid you'll find some

I'm glad you enjoyed the article despite your lack of passion for the watches themselves.

I've written various reviews on Breitling watches on our website. I always like to include the history of the timepieces under scrutiny. Maybe I should cut and paste all of the historical script from these reviews and stitch them together as non-definitive education on Breitling's illustrious past.

However, if there are any members who would like to read a master of the subject I cannot recommend enough the weighty tome "Breitling - The Book"
