I would be interested in your views on Bremont watches, many military are having limited editions made and they are certainly well received and appear reliable? |

I had a MB II for a while. The case has unique shape/lugs and was very comfortable for a 43mm piece. I picked the MB II because I like arabics on a 'pilot' style watch. What bothered me I think on this piece was the overall readability of the dial was still not as good as I thought it would be, not bold enough, and lume was poor. The overall fit and finish seemed very good. The timing right out of the box did not meet COSC as was supposed to, ran quite slow, had to send it back for regulation. They ended up replacing the mainspring I think, and it ran much better after that. Service from Bremont was good, the AD not so good. Didn't have it long enough to comment on long term reliability. I wouldn't rule out trying another if they come out with a new dial design that I like. |

I've checked out a few. They are really nice, well built watches. Very similar to Breitling's build quality. I like them but for the price I would rather have the B with wings on my wrist. |

I have never owned one, but would like to sometime in the future. So my comments are purely on the watches themselves and the direction of what seems to be the Maker intentions. I think they are sensational. Bremont want to bring watch making back home to old Blighty. Although they are made in Switzerland at the moment, there is intention to make them in the UK in the future. Maybe. I think the idea of giving an MB1 to anyone who has suffered the Martin Baker Letdown (ejector seat exit from a plane) is surely one of the best acts of admiration any company can give a pilot (not to speak of marketing – there again it’s a small market really). The supermarine is one out of the box but any of the Pilot Alt Chronos are choice in my opinion. The Victory watch although a little old school for me, is a wonderful idea, especially using the metal coming from such a hallowed and iconic ship to make the cases. Kind of reminds me of minting Victoria Cross from Crimea cannon (with all due respect). They seem to be hitting all the right buttons. I like where they have been and I like where they are going. If the way the name was chosen is to be believed, that’s even a great story in itself. They seem to have nothing but good news for those with a horology interest, which is a rare thing. Jim |

Speaking as a recent purchaser of a bremont I can say that I have been more than pleased with their service, build quality and am hoping for big things from them in the future. This will not be my last, infact they are producing an le specifically for the bremont forum, designed with feedback from its members - this I will be purchasing. Here's a few pics for you..

Thank you for your impartial views, I suppose with Bremont being so recently set up it will take time to gauge how they fair alongside more established brands. Tom - the story of the name is very interesting and makes me want one even more! I have visited their London boutique and the brothers were both there along with a few celebrities trying on numerous watches. Jim Bob, yours is lovely and the lume really stands out, did you venture to their store? |

No, don't get in to London very often, and when I am there I'm usually snowed under with work. I have had contact with head office both via email and over the phone though. I think the company is showing the right signs for longevity, I quite like the idea of bring 'in' so early on in their journey too. What piece are you looking at? I think the mb2 will be my next, unless breitling wows me with something at Basel.... |

I think theyre interesting, if not overpriced. Their cases are nicely designed, the few that ive handled seemed to be built well, and I find some of the designs to be quite attractive. Im not a big fan of their faux history. I get that it might be real, but it just seems kind of cheesy to me. Like theyre trying to play up something that isnt actually very interesting or significant to begin with. I find it to be more of a fun story than an actual historical lineage. |

Yes, you have to be careful with what passes for the truth these days, especially on the web. If it’s any consolation, the MB1 being shot out of an ejector seat test would appear to be true. Although not that significant (as I guess many watches get ejected along with there wearer), it remains an interesting test all the same. Bremont. More strength to their arm. Jim |

I'm keen on the MBII, tried it on and really like the idea of being able to change the colour of the barrel part of the watch. I was with someone who wants to have a limited edition commissioned and they have a few choices to choose from. I saw the limited edition U2 in their display cabinet, that is a lovely watch but now sold out, however if I ever get the chance of buying one I will be a happy bunny indeed. At present I don't get the warm feeling with the current Breitling's, I hope 2013 brings some new models or they may lose many customers. |
