Hello everyone

What is the difference between the IWC rattrapante and the iwc Portuguese watch
Also what are they like as a watch. I have seen a dial with silver hands and numbers with a white dial that says its a Iwc rattrapante is this a watch iwc sells or a fake design.

I've seen a Portuguese Ratty before. Supposedly very rare though... I think it's supposed to have a clear caseback and of course the third pusher on the 10-11 position. A rattrapante function is supposed to have essentially two timing mechanisms to time two separate events.

I believe the word Rattrapante is French & means to catch time or something like that. Additionally, the Portuguese Rattrapante is from the the mid - 1990's. As far as the case back, I don't think it was clear it was a traditional metal.
