boogiebot wrote: you almost never lose money selling your rolex used Well... if you buy new, with VERY few exceptions, you will always lose money on it if you flip it. If you buy used and you do your homework you will break even for the most part or even gain some if you buy the right thing at the right price. Like anything else, if you know the market and know your product, you can enjoy one for years and let it go without any real loss or even a possible gain. |

That seems like a pretty bold statement. sorry i should have been more specific. if you have a good relationship with your AD you can usually get a new Rolex for pretty close to what a similar model used would sell for maybe a few hundred dollars more. for example I purchased my 116610 LN for 7100 dollars. if i went to sell it tomorrow i could probably get 7100 dollars. add in all the price increases and in the next 2-3 years i might even make a hundred or 2. |

Outdated and old fashioned designs, but many refer that as timeless... |

I think most would agree that the sub and DJ have stood the test of time. There is a reason call these classics because they make sense bak when they were first introduced and thy make sense today. If I were a gambling man I would wager money that the sub 50 years from today will still have similar style and mass appeal, I don't think the same could be said about a chronomat 01 LE |

I love my 116610LN. great investment. Very respected and recognized brand. And as stated the annual price increases and lack of AD price reductions in most cases assures their value. I bought mine for $7500 when MSRP was $8000. It's now at $8500 and unchanged in its design. It only took about 50 years for them to mess with it. ![]() |

Rolex makes over a million watches a year, where breitling only makes about 100,000. IMO it's more appealing to own something more exclusive. Why buy a watch that's pumped out on a asembly line of robots. When for about the same price, maybe even a bit less you can own a work of art at was made with care. I love that people notice my watch, but than ask what it is. |

Wow, longest paragraph ever. Owning both a B01 and a Sub, the Sub still gets the nod the majority of the time over the B01. The Sub is the perfect watch in my opinion an if I ever had to be down to one watch, it's an easy choice. ![]() |
