I have looked at this watch a few times now and really like it. I don't see a lot about the brand online. Does anyone know about the resale or what the street price is on one. My local AD quoted me $4299 today. I think it sounds good and I really like the watch. Just wondering what others think?

Hello chance97,

Maurice Lacroix gives good complication/price value. It has not the brand exclusivity like many other prestigeous brands, as they used to start with 300 Euro quartz watches, but going up to a Tourbillon Chronograph. The resale value is rather low, the movements are of good quality, the cases are sometimes a little bit "thin". They are developing their own range of movements at the moment, having already introduced a handwinde chronograph movement, which makes them in fact a manufactory. Very interesting is their project Memory1, where they want to produce a mechanical 3-hands watch, that can as well be used as a chronograph. But that watch might cost a fortune.
The "old" watches are all based on Eta calibers, but with a lot of module techniques.
Best selling market is Germany

Maurice Lacroix is in posession of the Tesco Group, and the name has an interesting history: When they started with their brand, they looked through their internal telephon book, and there they found that name. So there even exists a mr. Maurice Lacroix.

I love the Retrograde stuff from ML, but like Thomas said.. really bad resale. You're better off buying the ML stuff second hand. My bet you can get that model for less than half of the Retail used.. probably around $2300 or so.

I do like it though.. at 43mm its a very nice watch, but for the money, I'd go with a Zenith Chronomaster XXL Open Heart.

Yeah the resale really scares me off. Do you have any good links to the Zenith?

This is the Venice edition of the Chonomaster XXL:

The regular edition is the same but without the gold case and good venitian lion.
