im really stuck right now. coming up soon ill be looking at another purchase. well i absolutely cant decide between the super avenger (bracelet, white dial, batons) or the omega planet ocean 8500 45.5mm (bracelet, with orange 3,6,9)

i just tried them on yesterday next to each other. i love both. lol. basically i can get them for the same exact price. i know "smart" money says buy the omega, but the SA sings to me as well... i need both and will prob own both at one point but can only get one now...

I have owned the SA and sold it off. My infatuation with the SA lasted about 6months. It's a nice piece but just too big for my wrist.

IMO the SA was not something I could see myself wearing forever. Don't take ,e wrong the watch is nice but I am looking for pieces that will last a lifetime. Just my opinion.

Are you looking at the 45.5mm PO with the 8500? It's a hard comparison IMO as I think the PO Chrono with the 9300 would be more comprable. The SA is a massive watch but for a bigger wrist, it looks really, really good when other watches look out of place. The PO 45.5 non-chrono I can almost wear on my sub 6.5 inch wrist...and compared to the previous Seamasters (which are great watches), the PO has made some serious leaps...it is of exceptional quality with an exceptional movement. It's really a completely different watch though. The SA has a more 'busy' dial where as the PO is much more plain...if you plan on using in water a lot, it is worth noting the SA does NOT have screw pushers like the Superocean and Chronomat do, and so it is something to consider given the chance of accidental underwater activation. But personally, I think the SA is going to have a more commanding presence given your wrist size, but that's just me.

yeah, edited to say 45.5mm omega. it doesnt look that small on my wrist. its a decent sized watch. neither will be used for "sports" of any kind, getting wet etc. your right. the super avenger does look BAD AZZ. i guess im "lucky" due to my size it doesnt look out of place like on most people with smaller wrists.

i honestly wont be able to convince myself one way or another until it comes time i guess.....ill prob end up owning both at some point.

I've forced myself to not buy a winder as I've told myself I will only have one high end watch lol

The SA on my wrist literally looks like a watch floating in space without a wrist. IMO it will get noticed a lot more than the PO, which is a little more on the conservative side...and that's a reason I like Breitling. If you tire of watches easily, that's a +2 for the SA given the chronos give you more to play with, and it's easy to find use for them.

ive got a top o line wolf dual winder with an open spot waiting.... :) lol. sadly im down to just my oris 49mm dermeistertaucher right now. "life" has been in the way lately as far as purchasing watches go.

the SA lugs dont even stick out past my wrist..... :) i want both but ill probably end up getting the SA first. i know its not as technically "perfect" as the 8500 omega, but it destroys it in the subtle bling department.....

Alright, how many threads are you going to write on this? It seems like you really want the SA, go buy one and enjoy it! I think maybe you just needed someone to say it! You stated that you will buy both eventually anyway... Take a page from Nike.... Just Do It!!

I have both, the Omega is more of an every day watch. The SA is more like bam in your face.
