While I freely admit I'm a slave to OEM stuff, I came across the following site a few days ago and just thought I'd share it with you.

They can produce some truly AMAZING aftermarket straps, so if all you Blacksteel owners are still struggling to find something to swap the standard rubber strap for, then look no further! So...... Salmon-skin strap anyone? Elephant maybe? How about Beaver tail??? Anyone for the Cobra skin?

Check out the "Click Here to Order your watchband" in the top right of the page. Kind of like the Japanese Breitling "fitting" section.

Amazing creations -

Yet another excuse to not work!!

Awesome find, though I wonder if some of them are really what they claim - I'm pretty sure some of those are illegal these days!!

Oh and if anyone wants beaver tail straps I can supply the tail - dozens of the bl**dy things in a pond on my property.

Wow, that is cool

I like how you can specify not just the animal, but the part of the animal.

I think In2Deep has the same problems with to many Beavers. The California kind.

I did wonder that myself. Elephant for example. I mean, do they have a deal with a local zoo so that when one drops dead, they have first dibs on the skin? But then again I wouldn't be overly surprised if French law was a little more relaxed on certain animal products than say the UK or the US.

Yes, but not from Quebec where a beaver tail is something very different (without heading for the gutter) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaver_Tail_(pastry)

I hate you Driver8!!!

I've spent hours on that site trying to find a combo for my Blacksteel - thought it would be easy - horn back alligator, but no - you can't have the red stitching on that.

Then I had to decide between one row of stitching or two, contour or outline, regular thickness or thicker - then I find out I can't have my choice with a padded strap, so which becomes the preferred choice - stitching or padding?

I finally make a decision - black Anaconda with two rows of thick stitching following the contour of the strap in the brightest red. I'm ready to order and then......

I realize that they're closed until September 2nd, so it would be silly to order when I still have a couple of weeks to change my mind wouldn't it!

I HATE YOU!!!!!
