I do have 2 Breitlings, both of which are the cheapest that Breitling offers (Around $3k msrp) and I love them. I do have a Citizen CA0310-05E that I wear as a beater and I really like it. I play golf and soccer in it all the time! I also have a Tissot 516 PR that I love and it's right about $850 msrp and I get as many compliments on it as I do my Breitlings.

I'm just going to wear whatever I like, wether it's a Breitling or a Citizen! (However I am in the hunt for another Breitling!)

Not really...my Citizens and Seikos (which are cool in their own right) essentially act as representatives to break in new straps as I get them using a mold of my wrist. I reason if I am getting a $5k+ watch that I might as well wear it for everything I do and so rather than buying other watches or wearing older ones, I went strap crazy.

I'm with you on the straps, I purchased 6 24mm breitling straps in the last 3 weeks three crocs and 3 calfskin, love the quality.

I've only got one Breitling strap and while it was a lot of $$$, it is absolutely top notch and everything you would expect from Breitling (I wish they had a better strap deployant for my small wrist tho!). I've also gotten straps in Python, Shark, Ostrich, Lizard, Bull, Camel (on its way), Kevlar, and a few others. I've taken a liking to the PAM-style straps and tang buckles and an almost inseparable love to Breitlings deployant used for the DP2/Ocean Racer straps. They look good on my other watches but obviously I get them for my Breitling...I know some people who buy tons of cheaper watches and just alternate the watch (and dont even realize the band/swap can be changed!), so to them I am out of my mind.

All my breitling straps are tang buckles, deployment style does not work well on my 7" wrist. Sounds like you have a nice strap collection.

I wear what I like the look of! Seiko and Citizen make some great pieces. I'd rather pay to replace a budget watch than fork out to repair a damaged ling. I regard wearing my lings as dressing up, my CA, t shirt and an old pair of jeans = sharp dressed man!

No snobbery here. I have a small collection (by design) numbering just 5 right now: a Rolex, a Breitling, and 3 cheaper watches ($500-$800 range). I wear and enjoy all of them just about equally.

Truth is, I've really come to appreciate the good looking, well-made affordable watch. The way I see it, a watch that's going to sell for several thousand dollars has no excuse for not being spectacular. But when a watch maker achieves outstanding results on a budget of a few hundred, that's equally impressive, if not more so.

I sure do!!

My Seiko Monster gets LOTS of wrist time.
I also have a Hamilton Jazzmaster that I love and wear. While not "cheap" so to speak, it won't break the bank at 500 dollars.

I wear all sorts of watches from all sorts of price ranges. A £60 G-Shock at one end of the scale, right up to (until I recently sold it) a £10,500 IWC Big Pilot at the other. Sometimes wearing a cheapie watch just makes more sense - gym, beach, travelling, etc. But there are also plenty of low and mid-range watches that I just like to wear.

However, I totally agree with jlee5050 in as much as I'd never entertain a "fashion house" watch. Every watch I own is interesting (to me) in it's own way, and isn't just a name on the dial.

Other than I've never been in a gym.
