Post subject:  Credit where credit is due, a visit to the Omega boutique

Let me start by saying that I have last been in Zurich's Omega boutique half a year ago, with my girlfriend. It had been my first visit at the time
and we had made no purchase. Nothing then to be remembered for the salespeople in the store... Or so you'd think.

Today, I went back alone to inuquire about strap options for my SMP, which has been bought elsewhere.

I was then, quite startled when I was greeted like an old acquaintance and asked how my girlfriend was doing. Such a memory is not usual and I must say, kudos to them for that alone.

But it didn't stop there. When I asked about the strap, they immediately found what was needed and had the thing mounted and adjusted in no time, all while I was being shown the new and rather rare blue dial PO chrono, an Item not on public display that had just arrived for a client... Not because I was willing to order one, just because I was curious.

The conversation then shifted to storing watches and ended in them giving me an Omega travel case, when I explained I was beginning to have space issues in the place I keep my watches in.

I had almost left, fully satisfied with a nicely packed red bag in my hand, when I had to ask if they didn't want me to pay for the strap I had just bought.

The saleswoman, slightly inconvenienced by her own wholeheartedness after the fact, had forgotten to ask me towards the checkout in the course of the conversation. It seems then, that it isn't always just about the money.

All in all, I encountered a level of service and sincerety equalled only by my Breitling AD and JS Watch Co's Gilbert, whose hospitality really is in a league of its own.

In an environement where one hears the craziest stories about unfriendly and/or clueless ADs, I thought I'd mention it and give a big hand to the great folks of Omega Zurich.

Hope you guys've got similar places around where you are!

Disclaimer: I have no financial interest whatsoever in Omega's welfare, this post merely expresses my personal opinion which, at this time, happens to be rather favorable to the company in question.

I had a pretty good visit at the one at natick mall in the US they just opened last year, I went in with my breitling Super avenger on and was looking around and the salesman said no omega for you and I told him I had a planet ocean chronograph and a casino royale 007 limited piece so he pulled out the new planet ocean chrono to show me, I thought that was pretty cool and told him it was nice but I liked mine better, with the 3 sub dials instead of the 2 on the new ones, also one of the saleswoman gave my 4 year old son a nice Omega puzzle with the astronaut on it. Beautiful store and merchandise and knowledgable staff.

So let's see a pic of that SMPc on the new strap. Curious to see how the ceramic bezel and gloss dial work with it.
