Today I looked at an omega seamaster. The dealer sead it was a 1990.
It looked like it had done a few miles and the second hand did not line up with any of the second/minute marks on the face while rotating. The price was £800.00. I thought it was overpriced , any comments on the price and the second hand allingment. I don't know much about these models.
Any info welcome.

I agree - it sounds quite overpriced, and also in need of some (hopefully minor) service. I'd pass and find a better one.

I'm sure you'll find a better answer on an Omega board but I know that certain models are highly collectable so maybe it was one of those.

Thanks for the info , i'll look around and do more homework. i'm still at the thin edge of the learning curve.
