Good reading, I am now motivated to discover more about watches by Phillippe Defour. You know he makes a good point about how modern machines produce perfect results but the material is dead.

I'm not sure how many of you know who Philippe Dufour is, but he produces absolutely amazing watches, with incredible precision and he is extremely true to the classic watchmaker's craft. I found this interview with him - it's old now (2002), but you can feel the passion coming through - I for one find it encouraging that people like this are still in the industry - it gives me hope that I'll still be excited by watches 50 years from now - http://www.thepurists.com/watch/feature ... ws/dufour/ |
