I'm a Lange fan and have been pursuing the Datograph Perpetual as a sort of grail for a while now, but lately I'm becoming enamored of the Striking Time. I like the "digital" display and the watch is obviously very unique. Of course, I love the hammers on the dial. And at a shade over 44mm, it's a nice size (especially for a Lange).

Anyone have any experience with this one? Opinions and thoughts are welcome.

Videos of the hammers chiming are available on YouTube.

The only experience I have with this watch is drooling all over the computer screen every time I see it. I love it also. I'd even settle for the for the "standard" one without the hammers.

What can you say - it is amazing, but at 90K gold and 110k platinum, it better clean my house, make my dinner, and "other" household duties.

Our full-time live-in amah did that for us for ten years in Hong Kong for about $5K a year ;-)

At that price it had better write an alimony check every month as well.

Yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of duties unlikely performed by your amah.

I dont know about that. The watch is pretty damn nice. If youre really into these things it just might take you to that next level.

Normally, it would be out of mine too, but I've been thinking of liquidating my books (my other collection) and buying a grail watch. The books are just taking up too much room. Bad market right now, but I think they'd get me most of the way there.

That must be a hell of a book collection.

A friend has the Zeitwerk Luminous (next to my 294). The pt feels very heavy on the wrist & extremely drool-worthy...
