I am going to pick up a Zenith soon and all my AD is willing to do is 30%, if anyone knows of an AD that can beat that please do let me know, by PM would be appropriate. Thanks in advance.

I could only tell you of the great AD I got my Zenith from in the UK. Which I'm sure is of little use to you.

I'm curious to which Zenith you may be picking up.

I would guess at the Type 20 but I doubt you'll get anywhere near 30% off one of those.

A Statos Flyback Striking 10th maybe?

Zenith dealer was going out of business here a while back...I can check and see and let you know if they are. Its probably just in-stock items though.

Only 30%? That seems like a good discount. I've read good things about Topper Jewelers in California. I haven't bought a watch from them but did buy a couple of winders -- very smooth transaction. They are the official AD sponsor of the Zenith forum on another site. I have no idea how deep their discounts are.

I think that Govbergs carry Zenith.

On another note, mine's going to be headed back to Switzerland for the third time

Thanks for the help guys, I think I found my source. No hints, as that would make it too easy. But I asked for opinions a while ago on here and that question should make this an easy one to guess.

I knew it would be too easy  Close enough to be correct Roff but actually not the RG, but the RG/steel.

Nice!

Have it shipped straight to the service centre, it'll save you the effort.

:uplaugh: :uplaugh: :uplaugh: My 36,000 was BNIB from AD and the chrono wouldn't reset back to 12, it had to go right into service in the first week of ownership.

Yeah I have heard the horror stories, but since its the El Primero I hoped it would be less problematic, plus I like the design and color combo so much I am willing to risk it. I have seen it in person and it is much nicer than all the other brown dial watches I have seen, with a great movement and very good case finishing.

Mine's an El Primero too, and so was Sergio's

Really? You would think that a movement that has been in production for so long would be pretty much bug free by now. My fathers Zenith Daytona never failed, and he never sent it in for servicing on time, always a few years late. I hope I have better luck, after my IWC issues I really dont want to cross out another brand...

To be fair, mine wasn't a movement issue, it just need a few drops of lube. Poor QC though.

I know people have had issues with the IWC 7day movement, I just picked up a new 7day 3 weeks ago and it is +2 seconds right now, that's not +2/day, that's +2 for 21 days.

      REALLY??? I just had to check the date to make sure it's not 1st April!

That one's GOT to be a keeper, 'cause I guarantee you will never see the like again in an IWC 7 dayer! In fact I think you should donate it to a museum so the whole world can see that IWC really CAN make a 7 day movement capable of moving slow enough to actually tell the time instead of being used as a fan.
