So my question is which brand has the least expensive in house made watch.

I'd say the Omega Aqua Terra 8500 may be one of the most affordable Inhouse movements on the market followed by the Omega Planet Ocean 8500. I haven't found any Inhouse movements which are less expensive. I've recently found a few ADs willing to discount heavily on Zenith, so an Inhouse elprimero can also be had under $5k.

Assuming that we are talking Swiss then I would say Frederique Constant - in house for under $2,500.

IMHO they're ok but some of them look awfully similar to watches from other companies.

That's list price.

I think that the similarity comes from a very conservative and classic approach to design - they have a totally different brand (Alpina) for the sportier type watches.

I found that model for about $1600-1700 brand new!

I really like their Heart Beat Manufacture FC-935MC4H6 model.

Retail about $4 995 but can be found for $3 000 or less.

I may have just found my perfect "trial watch." Classic dress design. No risk of off-putting jurors - "yeah I think he's wearing a Breitling" or "yeah did you see that ROLEX." And low enough cost not to worry about it getting beat up when the judge holds me in contempt and orders the bailiff to cuff me.

This brand just peaked a bit of interest. Also like the simple "index" models though base ETA movement. One could argue it is a bit of a rip-off of the current JLC Master Control date, but like Roff said, their designs are rather simple classic designs and one can could argue their is nothing unique to the JLC Master Control date - been done in various forms by many brands over many years.

The prices are ridiculously low, which concerns me. I mean, you can get them at Bloomingdales! Any word on quality??????
