After weeks of speculations on Omega forums as to what will be the next watch that Omega will release to commemorate the release of the upcoming James Bond film Skyfall,
the mystery is finally revealed.

http://www.omegawatches.com/news/intern ... etail/1961

The 007 in the 7 o'clock position is drawing a lot of criticism but I think it is actually quite clever and I like it.
The PO has been really banging on my doors lately and once I do come across one of these, well my signature sums it up just perfectly.

Another limited edition of only 5,007 watches. I like the dial pattern but not too crazy about the placement of the 007. I'd rather just get the regular PO.

:yeahthat

I think the standard PO is better. But I would say that as I'm getting very tempted into buying one...

I like the 007 at the 7 o'clock over the 007 on the second hand of watche(s) past. As for the rest I think I like my PO better.

I too like the 007 at the 7 position, subtly done. In fact, I like everything about it except the pattern on the dial. Unfortunately, the dial is no small matter. The regular PO has such a great looking dial, this one suffers from comparison.

Ceramic bezel, new inhouse movement, display back, yet no Liquidmetal?? Very Strange.

I kinda like the 007 but I do not like the pattern on the dial.

I love it! Dial is pretty cool and the 007 is just awesome! Well thought out.

Regarding the bezel the thing is that what I've seen they don't make the bezels in black liquid metal for PO. I had a talk with my AD and he can't order them anyways. I'm talking XL now. I have no idea how it works for the normal size.

Apologies if this offends any 007-branded Omega owners here, but I'm old enough to remember when you could send away for a Bond 007 Casio with about 20 "proof of purchases" from Kellogg's Cornflakes...... and they came emblazoned with all manner of "007" this, and "Bond" that as well. These Bond Omegas just don't do A THING for me at all I'm afraid. Sorry, but it just looks a bit tacky to me.

What's next? A Jason Bourne Tag..... with no brand name on the dial 'cause.., like..., Bourne lost his memory so wouldn't remember the name? Or a Rambo AP with a second hand in the shape of a severed body part? Or a John McClane Panerai with an alarm that says "Yippee ki yay motherf***er"?

I really like Omega's general current direction with their watches (MUCH more than Breitlings), but these 007 ones? No thanks.

Blasphemy Driver, this is Bond :poke:

I like the look of the watch but not the placement of the 007. I agree that Omega are probably going a little overboard now.

That's incorrect, they did make a black liquidmetal ceramic bezel on the PO Limited Edition Liquidmetal.

I'm right with you. The irony here is that Bond would never wear such a watch. What secret agent wears a watch with his own agent number on it? If I were persuaded by the Bond association at all, I would want the watch Bond wears, not a watch that advertises Bond.

:uplaugh: I would TOTALLY buy a watch with that feature! Although, to be fair, I would be more comfortable paying a price in line with a gag gift from Spencer's, rather than a Pam.

:yeahthat That's actually the first watch to have a Liquidmetal bezel. The blue versions came second.

Like I said. I didn't have anything going about the 42mm PO. Is this also with the 85xx-movement? Should be. They didn't do the ceramic/liquidmetal bezel before that right?

No, it's the 2500. This was the last version of the original PO design to be released. The year following, they redesigned it, incorporating the 8500. Personally, I think it's the nicest PO ever.

My favorite design featuture of the PO is its simplicity. Simple bezel offset from a simple, uncluttered but starkly beautiful dial by the polished bezel ring. So this dial kills it for me.
