Somehow I ended up on a replica watch site, but as I was closing the page I saw this banner and it caught my eye. Google doesnt seem to pull anything up though. Is this a real model? ![]() EDIT: Ok, found it. I think it looks positively bad a$$. Apparently made by a company called "fragment". ![]() |

It probably is a 14060 mod with PVD/DLC treatment and customized red hints all around. Can't tell the marking above "Submariner" though. |

I wasnt really sure if that was dlc or not. That would obviously mean its not factory fresh, but I thought maybe it was just the lighting. |

I've seen plenty of similar stuff from other Rolex modifiers (Project X etc). Maybe I'm seeing things, but it looks like that might be a replacement dial. Not sure why anyone would want a Rolex with an after-market dial. |

I know its sacrilegious, but im all into these things now. And as gaudy as it is, im liking that GMT with the gold bezel. |

Did you see the black explorer2 42mm??? The orange GMT jumps off the dial, I freakin LOVE It!! I wouldn't mind buying a black Exp2 42mm now and having it DLC'd! |

Yeah these do look pretty good. As Otto said there are quite a few companies that do that kind of thing. Some will mod an existing watch, while others will insist that they buy a brand new watch on your behalf, mod it, and then sell it to you as brand new. The usual things apply though when talking about any modified watches. Rolex probably won't touch them with a barge pole, so servicing will be limited to specialists (of which there are many) or the originating modifing company (assuming they stay in business that long). Plus you'll know that some random bloke has completely dismantled your brand new and very expensive watch to make the mods. |

DLC Rolex & Panerais are if not quite commonplace, at least acceptable. When I asked opinions about dlcing my SA, you'd think I was asking about blinging it in black diamonds... Shheszz! |

Not really a PVD/DLC fan either (been there before but probably not again). I know the purists hate them, but some modified Rolexes look great. This one, for example: http://rolexblog.blogspot.com.au/2010/0 ... mited.html I assume shaving off the crown guards puts the final nail into the factory warranty though. |
