Post subject: | Breitling and Omega at Costco |
Does anyone have an opinion on buying high-end watches at superstores such as Costco? I was in Costco last night and they have both an Omega Speedmaster "Legend" and a Breitling Colt. Both watches were priced at @ $1700USD. |

First off welcome aboard! Second, that's an excellent price on the colt. It really doesn't matter where you get it from as long as it's from an Authorized Dealer, I'm not sure if Costco is a new dealer or not ![]() If they are, I'm sure this is just the tip of the iceberg as they have insane purchasing power ![]() |

Thanks for the welcome. I have actually been floating around the forum for over six months now. I purchased my first Breitling (Silver Navi World w/ bracelet) from a great AD (Windsor Jewelers; Ask for Michelle). I have been wanting the World since they were introduced and would not settle for another watch until I had one. |

Costco is not an AD. They acqurie their watches from ADs - often the Netherlands if memory serves, but no idea why there. Same cautions apply as online - check for serials, warranty etc. |

Correct, they are not a dealer, they do buy from other AD's, and a lot of the time the watches are older models - check it out careully!! |

Would the Breitling warranty still be valid if you bought from Costco? |

If the warranty book is stamped up from the originating AD, then yes the warranty would be valid. |

Yeah, it's difficult to provide a definitive answer because it's going to depend on what the originating AD did - don't know if Costco has a policy. Also remember that the warranty runs from original purchase so if the original AD stamped the warranty you could be many months into the warranty period before you buy the watch. |

Thanks. Often wondered what happened with the warranty on grey market sales. |

I heard somebody talking about a watch he had bought from costco. He had a problem with it a few months in and the told him to just return it. I dont believe they offer any factory warranty, but rather some type of repair plan, and of course, their no questions asked return policy. |

Sounds like a fine policy if the prices are low enough. |
