Post subject:  Glycine Airman ?

Greetings,

don't know why exactly, but i desire these watches since some time. Before I attempt to buy one wanted to consult the fans here, what should I mind in this brand and how can I differentiate original and fake ones? Anybody has experience with Glycine Airman? Would these pieces from 60's mainly worth ~ USD 1,000
If I am not mistaken, I remember Glycine was from Meylan Family produced. Do they have inhouse movements or use some Valjoux calibers? Also the dials I see in ebay are different some have those crown logos some don't, is that just cause of the year model or smthng else?

Would appreciate your experience and opinions about it,thanks,

yep, looks really beautiful that 24 hours dial, the crowns and so forth...But the movements make me confused some of them are various ETA calibers some are described as A. Schild 1700/1701 movement ? ( anybody knows or can give information about this producer ), and in some descriptions its said Glycine 1700/01 caliber movement. Need to dig in to wrap it up.

Not trying to push you away from this forum mavibere and I guess I am not violating any rules by making references to another forum but there is a Glycine dedicated section at watchuseek forum that I am sure will contain some interesting information for you.

It's a Schild 1700 / 1701 movement and the reason for the confusion is that Schild was part of Ebauches SA which later became ETA. Schild was one of many movement companies that came together to try and give themselves more power in the watch industry. I wrote a more detailed history of it a couple of years back - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8686
