I have been on holiday for the last 12 days...great time on a Mediteranean cruise.

Anyway, while on board they were having a good sale on Seiko's. I have been eyeing the Velatura Yacht Timer for some time, and they had it for a really good price, with papers, etc. The MSRP is $875, and I have been seeing them in the high $600's. I picked this up for under $600.

This model has a beautiful multi-level guilloche dial, 43mm case with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The band is brushed SS with black urethane inserts. Multi function yachting timer, single time alarm daily alarm, three pre-set countdown timers (5, 6 and 10 minutes), one free-set countdown timer (up to 15 minutes) and the chronograph can measure 12 hours in 1/5-second increments.

I am a sailor since my youth (although not doing much of it since I am in Germany right now), so it will be extremely functional for later use. I also like the crown arrangement. The driving wheel is detached from the crown when it is pushed in all the way. You pull it out to the first stop and use the top pusher to change functions. Great watch with a kinetic drive as well. Here's some photos:

That'll be a nice functional piece. And a good price too.

Very nice! Must admit I've got a bit of a soft spot for Seikos.

Admin,

You will have a blast on the cruise! We saved for quite some time to be able to go, but well worth it. And the weather in all countries that we visited (Italy/Sicily, Croatia, France and Spain) was perfect. Enjoy!
