I know this is not Brietling related, but wanted to point this out and seek advice on the alternativels available to me. Hi, I bid and won a Ulysse Nardin GMT Big date watch a few days ago. The price was a tad low but not too good to be true. http://www.ebay.com/itm/280849817753?ss ... 1439.l2649 I am now shocked to see the same watch being sold for much higher price on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ulysse-Nardin-D ... 19cf5d68c9 Any ideas what I can do. The listings are from two different user names. I have paid using paypal. Does this help me in any way. The watch is on its way to me by DHL and should be with me in the next couple of days. I am however sure that it is going to be a piece of cr@p. |

Appears to me that the second listing may be a scammer using the pictures from the seller of your watch. Your watch may be perfectly fine - Usually, scamsters are looking to collect your money and vanish without sending you anything - here you have a watch on the way... Of course, if the watch does not show up within a reasonable time - you may have become the victim of a scam and you need to alert ebay/paypal's fraud prevention departments asap. But if the watch shows up, check it out and see if its genuine and you like it. If its fine, just keep it and enjoy it - you did after all get it at a decent price. Otherwise, work within the seller's return policy first to resolve the problem. If that doesn't work, resort to ebay's / paypal's dispute resolution system. You might consider reporting the second seller's use of the first seller's pictures as a possible fraudulent auction. Looks like the second seller was active long ago, but has only a few sales recently. Could be a "hijacked account". ![]() Hope it works out for you. |

Let us hope that the second one is the scammer and not the first one. I have spoken about this to my credit card company, they have advised me to collect all possible evidence and also get the watch evaluated by Ulysse Nardin botique if it is fake or real. I shall file a pay pal dispute the moment I lay my hands on the watch. I am sure I have a good enough judgement to detect whether the watch is a fake or genuine by now. (watch box contains a navitimer world, iwc portuguese, franck muller, panerai (one real, one extra ordinary replica) and a cartier by now.) This may be an expensive learning experiance not to buy anything valueable online. I bought because the seller passed the smell test. Any way, only time will tell.... in more ways than one. I hope paypal has got the infrastructure to help me out if there is a problem. |

I took a quick look and appears the scammer might be the first one so stay on top of this. I would call Paypal and see how quick you can have the money frozen. You're suppose to wait so many days before filing a claim, but you definitely don't want to wait long enough for him to get the money out of his account which will probably only take a 2-3 days. (maybe sooner in the US- I'm Canadian and takes 3-4) PS: I would write the 2nd seller asap and see what he has to say. The best case scenario is the first seller has the same watch and just stole the pics. Edit: Just read the first listing and unfortunately I would probably bet one of my watches he's the bad one. Typical sales pitch, high on bs and low on substance. He also sells crap like Fossil, and other cheap brands, not to mention he has been fairly inactive. "This watch is brand new never worn and only out of box for photos. I am a collector and want to sell this beautiful timepiece to someone who can enjoy wearing it. This is an absolutely gorgeous timepiece." Also the 2nd seller was the first to list on March 28th. Strangely he seems to have it listed twice, or has two watches. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ulysse-Nardin-D ... 19cedecd33 Last point, really weird both sellers have been on a very long time which is not at all typical of a fraud. That could be a sign it's just a stolen pic which would be great if it's an authentic new watch. This is one of the harder ones to guess exactly what is happening. |

I see you left positive, but had an issue. So how did they both end up using the same pics? |
