Incredible work. Can you imagine the look on the watchmaker's face when his / her boss says "Hey, I've got a bit of a project for you".

Great read, I hope this is in my next issue. On the restoration, I can't even imagine what that cost.

according to the article the value was $2.4 million, though A.Lange did the work free of charge !

In the article they say "... the nearly $2.3 million difference the restoration has made" but I am not clear if that counts up man hours, and costs from other companies like the museum or other contributors that may have contributed to the restoration, and if they even charged. As in are they saying had we billed out this many hours it would cost $2.3 million... like is that their actual out of pocket cost, or is that their roughly estimated cost, but cost them much less etc. It could also have cost them more.

Superb workmanship. Just goes to show there's hope for literally ANY mechanical watch in ANY condition........ provided you throw enough time, effort, money and skill at it. Great read.
