Post subject:  Back in the Game

Seen several new purchase posts popping up lately, so I decided to post mine...

I have been a little quiet lately mostly because I decided to up and make a go at the big city life (for a kid from the sticks that is) by pursuing and taking a job in Austin, Tx which is steadily becoming a national hotspot. Very cool city if have not been.

After accepting my new gig, I also decided that it was time to buy vs rent, so I bought myself a condo, which was a whole 'nother level of pain in the ass. Closed on my place last week and finally got that behind me.

Anyhow, that brings me to my next point....I am now back in the game for my next addition after getting this whole thing behind me. . After flirting with the idea of a 2 for 1 (Navi/CM24 for Navi 01), I have decided I cant get past letting either go. I will be much happier with a long anticipated proper dress watch addition.

I am looking at 3 hand movements, and would prefer a sweep hand but not a must. As always I am looking second hand for value buys, and am looking for value my purchase. Been looking at these 3 but feel frre to throw in a suggestion

I love a sweep second hand

Even in a dress watch I would like a bit of heft without a huge diameter.

Just a classic with the some horological bling by going ass up

I like the Cartier of those choices, but then again, I'm a bit biased. One thing I would suggest is consider it on the bracelet. The strap and deployant clasp design is very hard to find the right fit.

The Cartier is quite nice but somehow trying too hard in my book. I think a simple Radiomir might be a nice alternative?

Of those three I would take the Reverso.

I have not warmed to the Cartier either, for some reason. The Reverso is classic dress, though it is quite a departure in size from your Navi and Chronomatic. The Hour Vision ( I think that's what's depicted) is kind of a neat watch with the sapphire "case" and a nice size, can go dress or a little sporty. If you're really happy with the your other two and we're talking dress only, probably the Reverso, but that Omega, if it's the hour vision, is tempting.

You know where I stand Thomas... but then if you can find the automatic version (976) then that's it... Game over.

Of the three main Panerai models the Radomir has always been the style I have been drawn to, but I dont feel like the dial is as visually appealing as some other options. I really like patterned dials with small details, but a good choice if I was looking for a hybrid dress/weekend watch

The 976 really does have it all and is a larger version of the Reverso which fits into my preference of some heft on the wrist. I was also looking at the Master Control model which offers the sweep second, but I think the Reverso is s=cu a classic it wins hands down.

I still have to put together funds over the next few months, but it is never to early to start pondering the next addition.

The Omega is nice. I love the sweep as well.

Gotta go Cartier. Ive seen it in person and it looks even better than the pics.

Youre pretty young (iirc), and the others look a bit mmmmm....old man-ish to me. I love reversos, but it will have to be a while before decide to add one to the stable.

Same here, but there is the Squadras as well and they somehow circumvent that effect... look at the GMT polo fields for example, looks a bit like the extreme lab II... Not very dressy though in that configuration. But if you were to take a simple one in steel with a black dial, you'd have the best of both worlds, young, hefty and classy.
