Personally I think that this is incredible, although I recognise that I may be in the minority.

I've always been a big fan of the Harry Winston watches, especially the incredible Opus series. This one has a touch of MB&F about it, which I also like. So, how much more money do you need Roff? Isn't it about time you break your rule of never selling a watch? |

Every watch that I have means something to me, and when I strap it on the wrist it brings a special feeling, even if it only gets worn very occasionally. The pocket watches that sit on display because they aren't practical wearers are still special pieces for me. If I were to sell a bunch and buy something like this then I just know that I would regret it, and the enjoyment of this piece would be tempered by the (non financial) price that I had to pay. Maybe one day, but not now. |

Couldn't agree more with you Roff, I feel the same way with each and every piece in my collection. They all hold some sort of sentimental/emotional value to me in one form or fashion, which would make it difficult for me to part with them as well. If I was to find myself in a position where I was forced to sell the bulk to raise funds in order to finance one special piece, I couldn't/wouldn't do it either. Now if it came down to that for other financial reasons, that would be a different story, however it would be crushing as well. I just have to face the fact that there are going to be some pieces that will always be out of my reach no matter what. I rather doubt that I will ever own a tourbillon of any sort due to the cost involved, much less something like this HW.

very interesting piece roff. and it definitely fist your criteria for something out of the norm. im affraid to ask how much it is. on a side note this thing is HUGE 65.9 x 45.9

Roff now that's what I'm talking about... as Ricardo said I love HW pieces too... and I love the opus series even more. haven't heard about this one yet until now but from initial glance looks awesome. That triple tourbillon is insane... So besides the Opus series, which are commissioned by independent watchmakers, who designs the movements or makes them for HW? do they normally do in-house too? |

They use independent providers to supply ebauche - Agenhor is one, but there are others and produce dials, cases, etc in house. I suspect that this piece is more similar to the Opus approach of one of the independent tourbillon producers working anonymously (which is fairly common with tourbillons even among the big boys). |
