Biver steps down as Hublot CEO

Post subject:  Biver steps down as Hublot CEO
Some fairly significant news given how visible Jean Claude Biver has been in recent years at Hublot. He stays on as Chairman but day to day running now in the hands of Ricardo Guadalupe. Sounds like it was a planned move to 'semi-retire'.

Wow -this is big news. I was just talking with some watch buddies this weekend about Biver.

Now the hand-written note that Altair got might be that much more valuable.

Nah, he's considering making "silverware", if you know what I mean, with the new Hublot gold.

Strange but people who can afford to retire, never really do.

Should you need such a note, his chàteau is just a stone's throw from mine. :wink: :)

I see him at least once a year, when he brings his cows back down from the alpine range for the winter and he is dressed like local peasants. Hundreds attend the feast and not only from my village. Quite a guy.

Tomcat, does everyone in the village wear a Hublot too? What about "Good Neighbor" discounts? :poke: I bet he's somewhat of a celebrity there eh?

Unfortunately, he's not giving away any Hublots during the "cow" feast, just a very rich meal for all those attending. There are 2 or 3 huge tents on the château's grounds where local specialties are served. And he may be a celebrity but he is more simple than you would think. As I said, he's dressed in a peasant's outfit from the canton (equivalent to a US state) of Fribourg because that is where his cows are grazing during the summer at an altitude of 4'000 feet. There is no Hublot talk, just cheese talk during the event.

This is quite shocking news. Hublot was never my type of brand nor, within my price range; however, he was always a proud ambassador of his brand.

No worries there, he's just stepping down as CEO because he has other ongoing projects, he's not leaving the company.

thats because most of them truly love what they do. thats why they are so succesful
