I'm the owner of a C/A and S/A Limited Edtion Black steel. For some reason, at this point in my life, I'm drawn to the U-Boat Flightdeck 50 mm. My question goes out to current or past owners of this watch. What did you like about and dislike about it, give me the pros and cons. This is a total sickness..haha.

Believe it or not I saw my first U-Boat AD yesterday and had a quick look. I didn't try any on, but they are ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE!!!!

I like my watches big, but I these babies just looked a little too large for me. I think it's the huge crown arrangement that makes it look even bigger. A very unique look, but quite hard to carry off I think.....

I agree. I tried on a few but couldn't help thinking that if they weren't so big I wouldn't give them a second glance, and I'm not going to buy a watch simply because of size. They are certainly unique, but I think I would grow tired of them quickly.

Incidentally, a friend of mine has a 1950s / 60s U-Boat that was made for the Egyptian navy - it's 60mm.

I had the opportunity to try on a Flightdeck U-Boat a few days ago while in Vegas and I really liked it. I'm drawn not only by the size but also by its unique design. You can get them in either 43mm, 50mm or 55mm. I just sent a email to a Canadian Authorized Dealer to see about getting some prices.

Would also like to hear from current or past owners

I think most of the models I saw this weekend must've been 55mm as they looked insanely big. I think 50mm has got to be the limit.

Believe it or not, they are pretty reasonable. I love the size, but I really wish they made them on a bracelet!

Here is some looks at Avenger Skyland and U-Boat Flightdeck. These are both very nice, quality watches. I believe Breitling to have a little more sturdiness while wearing. Don't be afraid to try on all the U-Boat models. The Thousands of Feet Models fit and wear so much differently. I've got my eye on one of those. I do wish they had some kind of steel band, but the watch can hold its own without it. The retail prices seem a little high on certain models, so do your due diligence shopping the price around. Overall if you can't stop thinking about it go pick one up. My next purchases will definitely be a Breitling, you can't go wrong.

Nice pics!

I've never seen one in the flesh, but in the same size range I've seen and tested the Zeno watch. The Zeno is just too plain for me, but the U-Boat seems nice!

It has nothing to do with your pics, but I've noticed that I get annoyed or irritated everytime I read someone calling their beautiful Avenger Skyland a SA instead of AS as it should be... Why is this so? I might to get myself to check in at the nearest shrink... :)

Sweet. Nice collection.

Love the U-Boat! I just wished they made them with a bracelet.

Your right Aleister and I will be man enought to admit I screwed the pooch on that one, being an Avenger Skyland owner I should no better, thanks for correcting me. The only excuse I have is that we worked about 32 hours straight on surveillance following some jackass waiting for him to slip up and I was a bit out of it. No excuses though, I will punish myself..haha. Thanks for the correction and great responses to this post, I'm leaning heavily on the Flightdeck, 50mm in about 60 days.

Sorry, it wasn't meant as an accusation, just a reflection. I just might be a bit anal about that... :)
