Hey Folks,

Just a little survey here. Can everyone list their faqvourite Rolex and state the reason for selecting that model. I'll start with mine :

SS Submariner - Timeless classic design and subtle features (almost resembles a Breitling!!)

Looking forward to some good responces

Cheers!

The new Sea Dweller Deepsea by an absolute mile. It's the first decent sized Rolex in their history and technically it's a very competant piece. And it looks great too (with the slight exception of the under-crystal writing that I am still a little unsure about).

I also like the Yachtmaster II as IMHO it's the first real design progression for Rolex in about 50 years! (only available in white and yellow gold unfortunately, so the price is too much for me). :?

Isn't this everyone's favourite? :P

My favourite has to be the 16610 Submariner. To me, the size, weight, and look are all perfect.

Not seen the Deep Sea in the flash yet but looks way too big for me. With my puny wrists, I'm very seriously looking at getting a vintage Cal 6694 Oysterdate as a dress watch which is only 35mm diam!

I honestly can't answer this as I have never remotely considered buying one. It's not watch snobbery, I just hate watches with cyclops.

So my favourite Rolex would be a cyclops free date carrying one.

I used to have an Exploer II with a white face, loved it, nice and simple. I love my Submariner, although when I wear it, it looks soooooo small compared to my lings :)

That'd be a Sea Dweller then.

I once really wanted an all steel Daytona. But the lust has worn off having held one and tried it on wrist. Too small, and to me a little unsubstantial.
I'm better now.

I was in a Rolex AD a while back and they had a new Explorer II, white dial with a red date. I havent ever seen a red date and it looked pretty good on my wrist except for the size. (I had to take off my EVO to try it on.. lol.)

The YachtMasters arent too bad either, just a litle pricey because of the name and the Platinum bezel.

The new GMT-IIc looks pretty nice in pictures but they didnt have the newer model to look at.

I also like the Sub or Seadweller lines, but unfortunately they are just so damn common and way to many replicas that my intrest in Rolex it only with the sporting models that are a little more unusual.

The Datejust line look like womens watches, compared to my Breitlings..

Took a look, prefer the deep sea, wouldn't buy it.

Probably just as well given the length of the list at the moment.

Almost resembles a Breitling?

Are you refering to the SuperOcean Heritage? If so, the Submariner was made well before the SuperOcean Heritage so I would say the Breitling resembles the Rolex.

:D

My favorite Rolex of course would have to be the Submariner. It's a timeless classic. In production since 1953, and introduced to the world in 1954 for sale.

It's currently in it's 55th year of production, and has had only a few changes along the way. It is probably the most popular, most recognized, and most copied timepiece in the world.

I don't know any Rolex that resembles a Breitling.

The Headwind did resemble a Rolex day-date in layout, but was only produced from 2001 to 2005, according to info on this site. Nice watch, a missed opportunity for Breitling IMHO.

I would say a matte dial 5513, its stunning and much better looking than the new subs withe the whitegold index and a lot of writing on the dial, clean and well balanced a true classic IMO, heres a pic of mine from 1969

Cheers
