New C LN hopefully with me in the next few days and now have a possible sale on my 2011 purchased 16610LV but starting to get the gitters about parting with it as it truly is a super watch and a great wearer.
Reading some of the Rolex forums I came across a thread about whether or not the old LV is going to be very collectable in the Future.

It was Biased reading IMO and I would like to know what you guys think.

To me it will always have a premium over the standard LN but it will not be like some of the rarer vintage Subs.

How can it really, a 7 year production run, I think! and a claimed 650.000 produced. Even worst IMO is the newer C LV which is Rolex jump on the back of the old LV also IMO.

So what ye think?

I think it's going to eventually be somewhat collectible, but I'm also a bit biased because I'm hoping my LV is going to appreciate in value. It'll probably take some time, but I think over the long term (5-10 years) it will definitely become more interesting to collectors and more valuable. I'm also not seeing much to like in the newest Subs, which can only help the LV.

Some Rolex enthusiasts will argue that some versions will be more collectable, but unless you find someone who really wants one of those versions, I doubt it'll be anymore collectable than the rest of them. I know some have said the first series tends to have a different shade of green bezel, some say the ones with the flat 4 are more collectable. Another variation is the F series I believe which is the true 50th anniversary of the Sub, and then there are others who feel the models without the rolex rehaut ring are more desirable.

absolutely not. but heres my best advice...

1) buy the watch

2) wear the watch

3) enjoy the watch

you do those 3 things and you will be the happiest 116610 LN owner
