Just bought this Rolex for my wife on e bay.
The guy sounded very genuine. Said the box was not the original but watch was definately authentic.

Could I ask my better informed colleagues on here for their opinions please ?

Many thanks and best regards,
Oscar.

it looks fine to me... of course the dial and bezel look custom but other than that, looks okay... the only sure way is to crack open the caseback and taking a look at the movement, but I would take the seller's word for it. Just a heads up, these Rolex casebacks require special "keys" to open the caseback. They're far from your typical three prong screw back.

The engraving on the caseback is also normal... typical of these Lady Datejusts from this era. I know because my mother's two tone DJ has the same writing. Normally the cardinal rule for Rolex casebacks are that they're supposed to be plain, and fakes usually have inscriptions on them, but this one looks okay too.

You would have to take off the bracelet to look for that. When you take the bracelet, there are two sets of numbers engraved between the watch lugs. One side will most likely say "ORIG ROLEX DESIGN" and a reference number, in this case it should say 6917. On the other side it will say "STAINLESS STEEL" and most likely a seven digit serial number. You can estimate the date off of that number.

Many thanks for looking at my listing I’m just selling the last ten of my Mother and Fathers collection of watches (they had over 50 watches in their collection) I have sold some of their watches and jewellery on e bay before and the comments and feedback have always been complementary. My father retired in 1984 at 57 and for the next 25 years they would spend the winter in there condominium in Naples Florida and every year my father would buy a watch or piece of jewellery from Provident jewellers 5th Avenue Naples (always second hand my dad would never buy a new watch he said you were just making the jewellers rich) Provident are still on 5th Avenue and are recognized as one of the best jewellers in southern Florida. I have has all the watches cleaned and serviced and guarantee that they are all 100% genuine. I have tried to be as thought as possible with the listing but any questions please ask by e-mail or if you prefer you can call me on 07779065290. Once again thanks for looking.

Dear All

Many thank's for all the help fellow e-bayer's have given me in selling my Mother's and Father's collection of watches. I have sold nearly forty watches but the watches listed on e-bay now are the last watches I have for sale. I don't have any more to list so no more e-mails asking if there are any more watches please the last 7 are on e-bay. Graeme
