While staying over in Dubai before I head out to Thailand I took the opportunity to spend a few hours at Dubai's Mall of the Emirates. If you have never heard of it, it is an interesting and HUGE mall. Believe it or not, the place even has an indoor ski slope of all things. At any rate all the Big Boys in the watch world are represented at this mall with various ADs and Boutiques which makes for a perfect opportunity to see tons of pieces in the metal. I managed to snap a few pics of pieces I tried on and thought I would share them with ya'll. The other bonus was I walked out with about 7 hard cover catalogs they gave me. The down side is that the ADs and Boutiques don't discount near what we can get back in the States, but for the Europeans the discounts offered make for a bargain.

I thought I would check out a Graham to see how it looked and felt, I was surprised they aren't as big as they look in the photos.

One I hadn't really given much thought to was IWC and this one was just plain gorgeous

Unfortunately the Breguet AD didn't have the white dial/blued hands/blued romans, but still was nice to ck them out

This piece by Blancpain is really a cool model, again not as big as it looks in the photos

JLCs Reverso's have not really appealed to me a whole lot, but this one kind of grew on me

Another Breguet offered by the Breguet Boutiqe was awesome, the pic doesn't do it justice but it is way out of my range

Lastly this one by AP was just awesome and had me thinking how to manage to snag one in the future

There is so much to see and check out, that a guy/gal could spend days there looking over all there is to see. If you ever get a chance and are in Dubai, stop in and plan to spend a few hours...it'll be worth your while.

Lucky guy, you enjoyed it first as a free man. :) Good for you.

My personal choice would be the awesome AP, really gorgeous.

Have fun. :D

Had a great time in Dubai, loved the chilled pool, malls and souks...hated being teased by the bling I could never afford.
That Ingenieur is drop dead gorgeous...and well done AP, at last a bezel with screw slots perfectly aligned.

Theyve always been good with that. Hublot on the other hand...

Don't wanna add fuel to the fire, but that Graham actually looks pretty choice on your wrist... :poke: 8)

Totally agree on the ROO Volcano, what an awesome piece.
I also did like the Graham better in person than I thought I would.
Same with the JLC Reverso, cool watch. The surprise was the
IWC, I had not really considered them too seriously before.
I was really hoping to try on the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, but
they had sold their last one. I think it will be my next addition if I
can find one at a good price. Then I will have to save up for that
ROO, I really liked it A LOT.

I must be the odd one out because I think the ROO looks awful. I have never understood what everyone sees in that model. The ladies version with the diamond bezel is moderately tolerable, but the standard bezel kills the watch for me. Again, I totally realize that I'm in the minority with that opinion, so feel free to tell me how incorrect I am :poke: .

That being said, the IWC and Breguet's are fantastic! It looks like you had a great time. My wife works in Dubai often, so I may need to accompany her on a trip at some point soon. Thanks for sharing the pics.

The AP looks best on Your wrist. I think, the IWC, the Blancpain and the Graham are too large.

Yeah it looks that way, but I have a 7.75" wrist and actually the IWC fit quite nicely. I can carry up to a 48mm pretty well, but as long as the lugs don't hang over the sides of my wrist I'm ok. I did like the way the AP ROO fit and looked, it was hard to not walk out with it for sure.
