I found this in one of my draws. I think i found it in one of my relatives houses after they had passed away. i don't really know anything about it, it was found in a small cardboard box with some coins from the 40's and 50's not use if the watch is from that period or not. just thought some one on here might be able to shed some light on it :)

Thanks.

Much older than 40s or 50s, as a key wind / key set piece it is probably 19th century.

Is there no makers name on the movement at all? Shot in the dark without anything there.

Case doesn't help much as that will have been supplied separately from the movement but a casemaker's name might help a little.

European case then - .935 is a common silver grade there. That makes sense as the movement looks European from the bridges, but not much else I can tell you - sorry.

I'll take your word for it as the photos don't show the hallmarks clearly.

.935 could be many European countries, but the hallmarks should allow you to get it down to the assay office and year.

I'm not a hallmark expert. If you say that the case hallmarks match to Switzerland then I'll take your word for it. Unfortunately that doesn't help with the watch. It just means that we have an unknown European style watch in a Swiss silver case.

I have emailed an pocket watch expert and they said its a standard swiss bar movement in a swiss silver case. guess that narrows it down a bit but i don't have nay idea on the maker still.

Would love to know how they know that it's Swiss.

Swiss style with the bar bridges, but the Swiss weren't the only ones to use it - hence why I said European.
