Hey all, well first off I would like to thank everyone who contributed to my "Help with suggestions, 2 watches" thread. This morning my new Omega Aqua Terra Co-Axial 8500 arrived. I couldn't be any happier with the quality, fit, finish, elegance, and sportiness. The white gold hands and markers really look fantastic! Now to the tough part... As this is a commemorative gift for when my daughter is born, I have been told by my wife that I am not allowed to wear it until November 14th... or if she is born sooner. In fact, I am not even allowed to keep it in my house as she says, "I know you are just going to try it on and wind it up every night, and you're not allowed to play with it!" To be fair I do agree as it will be even more special to put this on once she is born, yes I will wear it to the hospital... The only reason I didn't wait to purchase the watch closer to mid November is the price increase that I narrowly avoided, effective yesterday 9/1. Please enjoy the pictures I took this morning at my office. I took them between a mix of florescent lighting and window glare with a cell phone... This pictures do not do justice for this very cool grey Teak Concept dial, which is supposed to be reminiscent of fine boats wood decking. Thanks again for the input, I probably would not have found this watch without the help of you and especially JacksonStone. Oh, yeah one more thing, since SHE is the one having the baby I was going to get her a watch as well. We are still looking, but now we may be shifting gears towards a necklace with a pendant containing birth stones of our first daughter, future daughter and a diamond for mommy. She did mention that she would like a nice watch one day, looks like I'm not off the hook...

Congrats. Which size is it? The grey teak dial AT is definitely my favorite Omega. Simple but interesting dial. Good call on getting it on the bracelet too.

I'm glad you said that because my initial thought was, "Where the hell's the pics of the DB and the GORGEOUS 8500 movement!"

Very nice, simple, classic looking piece.

Congrats. Its a beauty, looks like a great fit and you beat the price increase. Also a simple, timeless style, great for an heirloom piece.

Congratulations on the acquisition. It looks great on your wrist and I like the fact that it has the 8500 movement!

Very nice. A classic and distinguished design worthy of the occasion for which it was purchased. Best of health to your wife and future daughter.

Now that's more like it! The omega in-house movements really are things of beauty.
