Went to two AD's, since I still have on my mind getting either the Zenith Split Second and/or the Breitling Complications 19. At BOTH dealers the sales person bought over a manager to explain more to me - at the one I was looking at the Zenith the manager was wearing a Zenith, at the other where I was looking at the Breitling the manager was wearing a Breitling.

So...is it coincidence that at both they were both wearing the same type of watch I was looking at, or do they put it on before seeing the customer?

Were the brands they were wearing the main brands they sell at the stores? It wouldn't surprised me to see each dealer wearing the flagship brand they sell. Otherwise, I would say it is coincidence. I'm trying imagine salespeople looking through a peephole in the back to see who comes in, then hurriedly changing watches to the brand they know you're considering, to subliminally send the message that that's the one you should buy. Honestly, I don't see it happening. But maybe I'm wrong.

Could just be that I am paranoid, but I'm thinking that they have a few of the high end watches in their office, and when the salesman goes to get them they put on the one that the customer is looking at.

Breitling and Zenith weren't the main brands at either store, they had quite a variety.

It seems like a stretch to me, but then I've heard stranger things. Maybe some of our resident sales gents can tell us if this is a tactic they've heard of.

i SERIOUSLY doubt that happened, i think its a coincidence. i personally can be wearing any of the many brands we sell and even some we don't, i don't think anyone would do that.

I wonder if the managers at Victoria's Secret would do that too.

I shouldn't be surprised. However, even my twisted mind marvels at the thought process that started with the thought of Victoria's Secret employees wearing their wares to, um...meat curtains. Then again, come to think of it, it's not really a stretch. Ladies in lingerie naturally leads to thoughts of camel toe...and then it's all downhill from there.

Now pardon me while I duck out before this thread gets locked.

You're not paranoid. They are reading your thoughts as soon as you enter the parking lot!

Next time you go to the AD, wear a tinfoil hat and see if they are wearing the same watches you were thinking about.
