My wife and I just got back from Las Vegas and even though she wasn't in to it, we stopped in EVERY watch store I found! In the Wynn, there was an upper end store selling Patek, Vacheron, and A. Lange (with others). The lady there was a delight to talk to and even though I was sporting my PAM 312, she knew that I wasn't a "customer" for the real goodies. The didn't stop her from taking out ANY of the watches I took a liking to and allowing me to try them on. Now I don't really care for Pateks, mostly because of my 7.5" wrist and their designs aren't for me, but something about a $93,000 watch said "oh I could live with this one!" ![]() The creme de la creme was the platinum A. Lange I tried on. It was a LE, manual wind with display back (not sure the model) BUT get this... the sticker had this lovely piece at $280,000!!!! ![]() I can now say that a watch worth almost twice my house has been on my wrist! WOW! Other notable sightings was a store that only sold Torbillions! I didn't even go in there. And one of the stores (can't remember where) had a LE (made for them) I.W.C. big pilot with all blue markers and hands. It was a VERY nice looking kit! ahhhhh to dream....... |

A vacation can't get much better than that! $280,000???? That's crazzzzy. I dragged my wife through all the watch stores in Vegas a few years ago also, it was torture for her but I had fun ![]() |

Sergio, I was so facinated by the thing I can not afford that alas no pictures were taken! ![]() The Vacheron bracelet was SO COOL looking in the metal. I believe the catchy aspect was due to how "sharp" the inside of the individual link pieces were. I don't know if a little treatment with some 600 grit wet sand could smooth the edges over and then you could re-brush the whole think....or not. The strange thing is that I (or any buyer) should have to think of a solution for this, especially considering the MSRP of that watch! nr123, one of the benefits of living in doodah OZ is that the housing market is priced accordingly. My house for example is 9 years old 1750 sq ft w/ full unfinished basement (another 1750), a 30x40 three car detached garage sitting on 6 acres and I could probably sell it for $185,000 as is, finish the basement (which I have already started a dedicated home theater) and it would bring $225,000. I have priced housing on the coast and ...well... you folks are getting taken..... |

We'd like to see some more of your wood art too. |

I saw their watches recently for the first time and OMG perfection! 6 acres in my neck of the woods would cost millions and the closer you go to NYC fahgedaboutit. And I bet your property takes is $1,000/year right?? |

I live in one of the heaviest property taxed counties, for no reason AT ALL (not where KC or Wichita is located) and my last years property tax was something around $2400 per year with a county valuation of about $159,000. On a semi related note though..... average income for a non-executive is around $60k.... so it's all relative. |

$ 140,000.00 for a house WOW you couldn't get a 380 sq foot apartment for that here . And if you wanted to spend that on a house your commute would 11 hours each way to work then 11 hrs back home . One day I was at the local Patek store when a guy showed up to pick up his new 10 day tourbillion paid cash for it $285,000.00 plus tax 319200.00 he sees me scoping the watch and not the cash and he lets me try it on . Now that's crazy ,but cool. |
