As I was reading my latest edition of BMW Car, I fell upon an ad of this manufacture. Are any of you guys familiar with this brand? The only BRMs I knew up to now were the racing cars and I think that they are related to that.

Their V-12-44 model which is priced at £4'500 on the ad surely keeps the Union Jack up high.

They also propose a larger number of accessories like pens, cuff-links, tie-clips etc

Here is their site: http://brm-manufacture.com/indexGb.html

Pretty well known brand, but suffer from the same problem that a lot of these brands do - a lot of money for style over substance. Generic movements and can actually be pretty disappointing in hte metal. I've looked at them a number of times, but just can't justify the cost for the product.

Thanks Roff.

Look at it this way: they, at least, have accessories you can actually buy. Style over substance.

BRM is a brand I'd really like to like. They are very innovative in terms of case design and there's one model (the R-50) that has quite an innovative movement. I really REALLY like the look of the R-50 Gulf version they currently have out. This - http://exquisitetimepieces.com/pc/BRMR- ... +Automatic

However, I tried a few on at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a couple of years ago, and I was pretty unimpressed with the lightness and the way they wear on the wrist. Oh and the price as well.

Also (and rather stupidly, but hey, it's all in the details!) I also really dislike the font they use for the BRM letter on the dial! It looks really cheap and nasty to me.

I also agree with Roff, that again like so many other small brands, they are a lot of style over substance in most cases.

I believe that several of their models are limited production. Maybe that is why they have a high price tag?

You summed up exactly what I was gonna say. I tried some on a year or two ago, and they felt so light and delicate. Very odd. Then I looked at the price and it was something like $27,000. Case size was big and oddly shaped for a watch -- like wearing a wall clock on your wrist.

I will say though, that they do look incredible nice from an artistic standpoint.

EDIT: BTW, im talking about the skeleton looking models. The normal looking models are boring.
