My buddy's fiancé contacted me to help her out with a watch for her soon to be husband. Her budget is $1000 and she likes the Movados. I personally like this one because you can dress it up or down... Movado datron 0606360 automatic Any other suggestions???? ![]() |

If it has to be a Movado then I'm going with the Series 800, black dial chrono. Nice looking watch. If she is looking for other suggestions in the $1000 range then I'd consider a few Hamiltons and the Tag Aquaracer line. |

I'd agree with serge and say that you might want to steer her away entirely from Movado. The Hamiltons in that price range are pretty alright. The Jazzmaster Petit Second comes to mind. If I HAD to pick a Movado,I'd go with a Horwitt. It was reviewed by admin a while back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVxewVIJU_k |

Longines has some good stuff in that range. |

I'd definitely take a look at Hamilton. They're not as well known as Movado but in my opinion they're nicer. |

You could probably find an older Breitling Superocean for $1,000. I see them ever now again on ebay for right around $1K. |

I'd definitely steer her towards a truly mint used Breitling or even an entry level used Omega way before I'd refer her to the other brands. They'll hold their value much better at that price point and she'll be getting a heck of a lot more bang for her buck. |

In my experience women don't want to buy something used as a gift. |

The Skyland I listed here a few weeks ago sold to a very nice woman named Megan who was buying it for her fiance, so they are out there! |

Most fiances aren't.....well ..............just never try to mess with their plans is the best advice I can give. ![]() |
