Does anyone have any information on the Barclay watch company of PA or it's product, the Barclay Masonic wristwatch?

It's a new company that was started by a watch collector about 2 years ago. I have no idea where the watches are sourced from but obviously commissioned, the comany is little more than a one man brand.

Like I said, Ed's doing it pretty much on his own. Not sure how serious he is about actually making a business out of it.

Well, if you check his website, he has a watch whose movement displays the working tools (for you who are Freemasons) so beautifully displayed on the movement of the wonderful Dudley Masonic pocket watch.

I just hope this Barclay is at least made in the USA!

I highly doubt it.

There are very few people making watches in the US who will sell movements to independents.

Hello-

I'd like to take this opportunity to address the questions and comments above...

My name is Ed Barclay. I am a Past Master of Kiskiminetas Lodge #617 in Western PA. I started "BARCLAY Watch Co." in 2011 to create limited edition timepieces for Freemasons, because everything else in the masonic market was extremely boring.

"The MASONIC" (2,500 numbered pieces) was based upon the famous Dudley pocket watch of the 1920's. "The SHRINER" (500 numbered pieces) is based upon a movement design originally patented by Dudley in the 1920's, but never produced. "The FREEMASON" pocket watch we will be releasing this year is an homage to the original Dudley pocket watch and is limited to 500 numbered pieces.

Our watches are designed by me, use chinese movements (2700B auto-mechanical) with final assembly in Hong Kong. I personally inspect every timepiece before it leaves our western PA office.

Please feel free to visit our web site for more information. Like many of you, I have been a wristwatch addict for more than 20 years. I own two Breitling watches, along with several other higher end timepieces, and would never claim that our watches are built to the same level or quality, but they are good timepieces. When I started out, my hope was to build "affordable" (our watches are between $300 -$400) limited edition timepieces that a Mason could easily afford and wear with pride...like no other. I believe we have succeeded. Thank you.
