My boss is having a problem with his PAM312, can anyone help identify this problem and give suggestions on fix? The Watch seems to have no power reserve, it works fine when he is wearing it however once it goes off his wrist for the night the stops before morning (should have a 3 day reserve i believe)? Also, if you go to reset the time it stops running (second hand will stop running altogether)? He told me he "shook it" to and it started running again? I am no expert but could this have been caused by setting the watch in the "danger zone" between with the date change? Best to send it to the panerai repair center in texas? Approximately repair cost? Any help would be appreciated?

First off...welcome to BreitlingSource!!

As far as the Pam 312...I would suggest that your boss give the watch a good winding (50-60 turns) then leave it and see how long the power reserve lasts. If it runs dead in less than 3 days then it needs to be sent to the Pam repair center. It could be that his watch just was not wound fully so when he takes it off it tends to run dead in a matter of 8-12 hours. Wearing the watch should keep the power reserve up, but if he is not very active, or if he is only wearing it for 8 hours a day then it is possible that the watch isn't getting enough "movement" to keep the reserve up.

I am not really clear on the 2nd issue you are talking about. If he is setting the time then I would assume that the seconds hand will not run as I believe that model has a hacking seconds feature (someone correct me if I am wrong here). The seconds should stop when he is adjusting the time, but should start running again once the crown is pushed back in. I would not suggest shaking the watch...nothing good is going to come from that. This is not an issue of setting the watch during the danger zone...that would effect the date change, not the accuracy of the time or the seconds hand functioning.

When did you boss buy this watch? Did he buy it new? Is it still under warranty? If it is less than 2 years old then I would send it to the Pam service center and have them work everything out while it is still under warranty.

thanks for the help. He is sending it to the repair center today. It was purchased as a gift in Nov. 09.

the second issue is that the second had does not start running again once the crown is placed back in the position to wear the watch.

and i posted to this fourm instead of the panerai fourm cause i purchased my breitling in jan. Black super avenger with baton makers.
