Has anyone heard of Pineider? It appears as they have been making quality leather goods since 1774 ,and I cant find much in the way of info on there watches? They have a beautiful Tourbillion for a decent price and was curious if anyone knew about the brand ,and the quality of the there watches. There dual time is just as striking as the Tourbillion.

Italian company, I thought that they were paper goods, but maybe leather as well.

They commissioned a range of watches around 2000 that were manufactured by Anonimo and had the Pineider name on them. They ended up being sold off pretty cheap by a distributor in the US because I think that the original Pineider went bust. There were chronograph and power reserve models, but nothing like these.

I suspect (but don't know) that this is now a different company that has bought the rights to the name and is now producing a new model. At the price points the movements have to be Chinese, but don't know anything about these latest ones.

WoW , a Chinese movement, if that is the case I will be steering clear. There really isn't much info available on the brand online ,you may be right about them going belly up ,and selling the rights to the brand, its just sad that after 200+ years they went down the toilet.

The only tourbillon that you will get for anything close to that price is Chinese.

What's the difference between Swiss made and Chinese made tourbillons? Are there any Chinese made ones of the same quality?

No.

That's why you can get Chinese ones for a few hundred and you can't get a Swiss one for under $25,000, and usually a lot more.
