I was getting low on PolyWatch (Acrylic Crystal Restorer/Polish), and I thought I'd have a look for an alternative, as I've always found it adequate, but no more than that - it improves the look of a scratched acrylic crystal somewhat, but never seems to bring it all the way back.

After some time reading through Feedbacks on e-bay sellers, I found one chap in the US who was selling an alternative, and had some very positive Feedback for his stuff. So nothing ventured, nothing gained, I ordered a pot of his potion.

It arrived this morning, and I've just spent 5 minutes working on an acrylic crystal on a Sicura Diver watch that needed some TLC.

Now I had already tried to clean it up with Polywatch, and the best I could achieve was this:

So I thought I'd give the new stuff a try - and the results are here:

Even bearing in mind that the crystal had already had a blast with the Polywatch, so this was a 'follow-up' treatment, I think it's done a pretty good job! It's not 100% clear (which would be nice), but it's a damn sight better than when I started - the vast majority of scratches have gone, and two of the more obvious ones are now barely visible (one above the 12 marker, and another between 3 and 4).

So, if anyone is looking for a viable alternative to Polywatch, they could do a lot worse than give this a run out:

I got it from a seller called upper_bound, based in Northville, Michigan. This is the e-bay ad: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310153327343? ... 1439.l2649

(Note to Mods: I hope it's OK to post the e-bay link - I've no affiliation with the seller, but feel that this product would be one of interest to BS members)

After FX, it cost me a total of £6.08 ($9.29), including Shipping, which took 9 days total from payment to delivery.

If you're in the US, you get free Shipping too, so that saves another $3 (£2).

I don't know if anyone else who has tried this would care to comment? I recognised at least one regular WIS username in the seller's feedbacks, which was nice.

Cheers!
