Post subject:  Strap vs bracelet

I have 2 Breitlings and a Rolex DateJust with bracelets, and numerous other watches with leather straps. I have tried to like the bracelets but frankly they are not comfortable for me. Maybe I wear them too tight? I don't want/ like them flopping on my wrist though...

My watches with leather straps are all very comfortable however. My DateJust on leather being the most comfortable. Is the overall watch weight an issue or do bracelets just wear harder (for lack of a better term)? I personally don't want to put my Steelfish on leather as I have never liked the idea of leather on a dive watch. I really don't enjoy wearing the bracelets for long periods of time. I also have the rubber strap for my Steelfish but don't care for it either. It feels to floppy or loose.
I guess what I am asking is do most people prefer leather over bracelets for comfort? I am considering selling my Steelfish and several others because I simply don't wear them.

Living in Arizona, I typically wear bracelets, but I'm going more and more to bands. I think overall weight and balance factor into it. Some big watches just feel topheavy. My old Steelfish felt a little heavy with the bracelet, though I still would like to have one again. I just staggered the days I wore it with lighter watches. My Headwind feels a little lighter with the band on it, looks good on band as well. I'd like a little more weight on the bracelet of the GMT, but the Oyster is a great-feeling band. The Breguet bracelet, if it fits you right (not a lot of adjustments) is wonderful. I like mine a lot.

Certain bracelets have microadjustmet capabilities. That might be part of what you need. I'm not as fussy about it but several people here are.

similar for me. have tried liking bracelets time and again, last one on my 01 LE, but on all watches that had the leather strap option, bracelets ended lying around, aquiring dust. like the OP I love the light and secure tight fit that leather offers, bracelets tend to either flop around or be just the little bit too tight to be comfortable.

so the only bracelets I wear are the integrated ones on my beloved 70s transOceans.

If sized right, I love bracelets (errr...watch bracelets, that is). Generally speaking, rubber, metal, leather...40mm, 45mm, whatever...I cant really feel them on my wrist after a few minutes.

I wear both and find both comfortable in different situations. I tend to wear more straps in the winter and bracelets in the summer, but that's about it.

Me it depends. I agree, the Steelfish on a bracelet is just too heavy. However, I do like it on a tang rubber strap. The Superocean 42 works on anything in my opinion. Being slightly smaller, it makes a huge differance on a bracelet I think.

It really depends on the watch IMHO. Some wear better on bracelet, some better on strap, some better on tang, sum better on deployant. The only consistant dislike I have is the leather deployant clasp. For some reason, I just don't like it.
