Lately I have been considering what direction I want to take my watch dollars and thought I would throw my thoughts on out there.....

Originally I felt like I could justify and enjoy a 5-6 watch collection. One for every possible situation I may run into....well problem is I don't run into a whole lot of different situations. In my weekly routine of work, home, occasional physical or outdoor activity, and occasional dressy business/social outings it is about all I can do to wear all three of my current collection.

I have started to consider a three watch rotation is will suit my needs best....and carry a sport, chrono, and dinner dress only until my life warrants a proper gold dress watch. Therefore I am thinking of making some changes in the coming year.

I really enjoy my newest addition the IWC Aquatimer. Just a great dive watch and so easy to wear on the weekend. It is hard to get this nice of a diver without jumping up a price level. In Texas a rubber strap is almost required 8 months out of the year, so I have no problem with the proprietary strap. Just a great model that I plan to keep for a while.

For work I just really love wearing the Navitimer on leather. This watch is perfect at work in so many ways....A chrono for timing lunch and client billing hours. A slim case that fits nicely under a shirt cuff, and not enough flash to draw any unwanted attention. My one addition that I never made was a black croco deployant strap. I just love croco on Navis.

My ChronoMatic 24H on bracelet is really my flashiest watch, so she gets the most dinner and night out duties. Just a cool watch that fits me really well and has an awesome bracelet. My favorite part of this watch is the red chrono seconds hand. Just gives the dial a pop of color. The bracelet makes this watch a little heavier, and the Navi layout while is a bit similar and repetitive to my Navi.

Both of my Breitlings are due for service in the next year and if I want to add a crocco I would be looking at another cash outlay. Maybe a total of $1500 all said and done. Therefore I am considering unloading both of my Lings and upgrading to a New from AD Navi 01 on black croc with the funds.

Recently I have been enthralled with the Navi 01 and find it has all the features I could want and currently love about my current models...

Love the black date wheel and the extra symmetry it adds to the dial....The all red chrono hand that I mentioned was my favorite aspect of my CM24 looks awesome!!!!The applied gold wings logo just adds another level of depth I really love, and finally the extra size just gives the model an extra wrist presence.

A move like this would leave me with a two watch rotation until I pull the trigger on a bracelet model to replace my outgoing CM24, but I think I will enjoy a move to my coveted Navi 01.

Any thoughts on a 2-for-1 swap? Are there any other models I should consider?

While the Navi 01 is a great watch, have you considered the Transocean gold case, Mercury Silver dial & display back? I've recently seen this beauty and was left with one idea, I need this watch!!

well a gold Transocean is bit pricier than a Navi 01, but if price were not a consideration i would love to own my favorite TO model

I'd sell both breitlings and get the Navi B01 to replace them. I'd get the B01 on the bracelet and also pick up the croc strap for it. If there's any money left over, I'd also pick up the new all brushed bracelet for the IWC.

Thats pretty close to what I have in mind except I have never been a fan of the all polished Navi bracelet, and would like to keep this as my leather option.

Instead of putting almost $3k into a Navi bracelet and one for my IWC I will prob put the funds toward the Rolex Migauss GV I have been eying for sometime as my bracelet/dress option.

All said and done a Navi 01 /Aquatimer /Milgauss GV rotation would be my first choice going forward

Is the IWC bracelet a new model from the previous one?

You need to sell the Navi you have and buy a 2011 Navi 01. Just my unbiased opinion of course!

There is a new all brushed version with a double lock clasp. The brushed/polished version with a single lock clasp is still available and they both retail for $1700.

Since you are wearing your IWC on the rubber strap for 8 months of the year, I guess I wouldn't invest in the IWC bracelet then and like you said, save the money and put it towards a Milgauss GV. I had the black dial Milgauss and I liked it, but the lack of a date drove me crazy.
