Post subject:  Big sized watches?

Hi
I currently have a Breitling Super Avenger. I love the size of it and wish it were even a little bigger.....(I am a big guy) Am thinking of picking up another watch to wear occasionally, but dont have the $ to get something nearly as expensive as an SA....Does anyone have any ideas of what I could look into that is around 48mm or more, and is under $2000 or so (new or used)? Any help would be appreciated...May even consider something much cheaper if it is big and looks good......for the purpose of it being a "bang around" watch. Auto or quartz is fine.
thanks

I think oris makes a pretty big diver, the Titan or something. I can't remember the name but I really like their stuff.

Ocean 7's <cough> tribute <cough> to the PloProf, imaginatively called "PloProf" would meet your criteria.

Look into U-boat watches.

The Oris Small Seconds isn't a bad idea and fits your price range, but it's only 47mm.

The under $2000 bit is the hard part. If all you are looking for is BIG, then boogiebot's TW Steel suggestion is probably something to consider. (Disclaimer - I'm not endorsing anyone actualy buying TW Steel!! , but more and more legit ADs in the US are carrying them which sounds like times are bad for a bunch of US ADs. In one place I shop there is an AP counter, then several Rolex counters, then a couple Breitling counters, a Tag counter, and THREE TW Steel counters.)

Or you could consider a pre-owned Bell&Ross BR01. It's only 46mm diameter, but since it's square it wears like a license plate. No bracelet option.

That was my first thought. It is a very noticeable watch and has that wow factor.

the problem with almost all of those watches listed, is they are junk, the tw steels aren't bad, and boars can have a case made for them, but met of the big watches under 2k are crap, fashion watches.

You mean a 60mm TW Steel quartz that costs under $500 isn't a fine watch!!!!!!

Well mentioned in this thread are U-Boat (over priced for sure, but "crap, fashion watches"??), Oris, Ocean7 and B&R - a brand I believe that you are an AD for!

Nixon is fashion, TW Steel is marginally better, but to say that almost all are junk is a little harsh.

i own a b and r, and i didn't call them crap,i don't count them in that group, i don't think anyone does, and they aren't 50mm watches. my auto correct changed uboat to boars somehow. am a dealer for tw steel and i dont own one of them either, what does that have to do with anything? but nixon is about as bad as it gets, i just hate them.

i see sooooo many people who buy 10 $2000 watches when they could have bought 1 descent used watch for 2k and be so far ahead. my biggest problem with most of those stupid big fashion watches is how overpriced they are, some are well over $1k and its just wrong
