As the title says, I am curious to find out: 1. What was your first nice watch? and 2. Would you sell it to fund another addition to the collection? Have you already sold it to fund another watch? For me, my first nice watch was my Breitling SO back in 2007. The thought of selling it has crossed my mind before and I am sure it will cross my mind again in the future, however, I don't think I'll have what it takes to part with it. It means too much for me to let it go...(I am wearing it now while typing this) I think this was my first post on BreitlingSource a long while back...sure brings back sweet memories http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3272&p=23855#p23855 How about you guys? |

Oris Carlos Coste LE was mine. Really nice watch. I sold it after I picked up a Planet Ocean. Suddenly the Oris wasn't getting any wrist time, and I had further acquisitions in my sights by then. ![]() |

Tag Heuer Professional Quartz... looked like a Rolex homage piece... right down to the mercedes hands... sold it a year ago for $160 on ebay after wearing it for God knows how long... nice trusty rugged piece... but then I grew up and thought a proper watch was in order... |

My first was the SOH46. I bought it last summer and enjoyed it for about a year before selling it to fund my IWC Aquatimer. Still have fond memories of when it first arrived, but I wasnt too hard pressed or attached. |

I still have my black dial stainless Longines automatic that I bought in the early 60's. It is incredibly beat up but still works fine. One day I will get it overhauled but @ 28 mm crystal and 32mm width it looks like a childs watch! ~10 years ago when I was traveling all the time for work I went to the quartz side and bought a Citizen eco drive titanium Blue Angels watch. These watches are fantastic for globetrotting, push 2 buttons and you have the correct time anywhere. But last year the automatic mechanical bug started rearing it's head and I started looking for a replacement. Early this year I found a used Black dial SuperOcean professional that fit my service watch mentality to try and I liked it so much that 2 months later I bought the perfect watch! My black dial Fishie! I love it. It is absolutely beautiful and satisfies my craving for high performance mechanical objects.... ![]() |

Avenger Skyland. It lasted a week and became a CSO with a store credit. Which became a CSO and a Steelfish. Then 2 CSOs and 2 Steelfish. I'll stop there. |

B01. And I agree with Roff on this one: I didn't buy it to sell it. So, it will not be sold to fund another one. |

My Breitling Navitimer World I suppose, though I'm unsure how you define "nice" in this context. And no, it will not be sold, not as long as I live. |

An Omega SMP (quartz unfortunately ![]() I bought it in 1995/6 right after I saw it in Goldeneye. I'd always been into watches, right from when I was a kid, but with the Omega I went from £100 Seiko to a circa £800 SMP. I guess Bond has a lot to answer for! I quickly got into autos (and Breitlings) and sold the quartz SMP within a year for the auto version. |

Sinn U1 - my first "name" watch. the price to badass ratio was off the chart, over engineered, legible, looked good on bracelet, rubber, leather, zulu/nato. Go anywhere and and do anything and not worrying about it. Alas, sold it to get into other pieces. I miss it. |

Not really 'nice' by today's standards but given that it started me into this mess, a manual wind three hand Sekonda for my 16th birthday. That was back in the day when they were re-badged Poljots from the then Soviet Union. I don't have it anymore and don't remember what happened to it, I suspect that it died and wasn't economically repairable. |

Tag Heuer S/EL quartz mid size £650 and a Tag Heuer F1 £125. Both bought on the same day - early 90's. Have kept both and wouldn't sell either, although I doubt there would be much demand for them in any case ![]() Funny thing is when I bought them I thought they were quite large watches compared to what most folk were wearing! The S/EL measures about 34mm. You get bigger ladies watches these days ![]() Don't wear either anymore but nice to keep. |

Mine was an Omega Seamaster Pro (Bond) with blue dial. It was a gift after I got back back from Iraq in 2003. Watch still looks great. |
