Post subject:  Question for the Planet Ocean owners

So I just received my PO in the mail from Govberg and I love it! I apologize I do not know the terminology, but I'll do my best to describe what I am referring to. I noticed on the clasp of the bracelet when it's open, their is another piece that pops out to make the bracelet even longer. I'm not sure what it's called, but it's directly underneath where the clasp folds together. Anyway, this pops out INCREDIBLY easy when the clasp is open as when I'm taking the watch off or on. Is this normal? I mean it pops open really really easily.

It's the diver's extension. When you fold it back in, you need to make sure the hinged end is set firmly into place first and then snap the rest into place. It takes some practice, but if the extension opens just becuase you open the regular clasp, it has not been properly seated in place. Just play around with it and you will get what I can't explain in words.

I know what you are saying. Their is a lip that needs to go under the metal piece as you clasp it down, but it still pops open really easily. I spoke to George at Govberg and he is all about correcting it if their is a problem, but I was told it's something that just needs to be adjusted to make the diver's extension a little wider so it's a more firm fit. Hopefully that's all it is, becuase I can't wait to put this thing on my wrist.

If you are seating the extension properly and it's still popping out easily, that's unusual. I haven't had a PO, but the SMPs have the same clasps (and will also share the new, modified clasps, as far as I know), and I never had a problem on mine with the diver extension releasing easily. Unless I deliberately popped it out, it's like it wasn't even there. I don't know where you're located, but if sending it back to Govberg is a PITA, this might be something a local Omega AD can help you with. It sounds like a fairly minor adjustment, but understandably it's something you will want to have taken care of.

I called George at Govberg yesterday when I received the watch and noticed the diver's extension popped out with ease. He was very adament about doing whatever was necessary to correct the problem. He explained that this is a common problem with the Omega bracelets, and researching it online confirmed this. I took it to a local AD today to see if they could fix it, and it was apparently a minor adjustment requiring the "tangs" to be widened so it fit more snuffly whenn locked in place. I had them take the links out and now this beautiful instrument is on my wrist :-)

Thanks everyone!

:yeahthat Glad to know it worked out. I wasn't aware it was a common problem, but perhaps that's why Omega modified the clasps on this year's divers. Anyway, wear it in good health and post some pics when you get the chance.

Looks great. It was a long road but I'm glad you went with the PO and that you like it. It's a great watch.

Now it's time to add the steelfish.
