In a week and a half I am going to NYC for a couple of days, and I get to be the "trophy husband"--my wife is speaking at a roundtable held by a publishing company, and I am tagging along. She is doing her "invited guest" gig all day Friday. My primary client based near NY has end of year going on so I won't be stopping by this time. So, I have the rare opportunity of time on my hands. Since no self-respecting follower here goes to a major city without hitting the watch shops, I need to figure out where to go.
I guess I could start out with the boutiques, but there are probably fabulous ADs in the city which have all sorts of tremendous timepieces. My focus is on JLC, Blancpain, GO, AP, Breguet and maybe Patek. Not much focus, is there? That's because though I can see some pieces locally, I want to see the scope and variety I can't see in town. Maybe the boutiques ultimately are the answer, but I want to get some feedback. Probably should post this a week from now, but you might say I am more than a little ready to hop on that airplane.
