The absolute one watch that would cure all your WIS desires. The one watch that would make you totally satisfied and never want another watch again. The watch that is out of your reach and you completely drool over it.

Mine would be the A Lange Sohne Langematik Perpetual Calender.

I'd take it down a notch to the Lange 1 Time Zone. 42mm, wonderful functionality. It has replaced the Moonphase on my dream list.

If it HAD to be one watch, and putting a little practicality into the decision probably a Rolex double red sea dweller or even a 1680 red submariner...

Sorry if I'm overthinking this, but does the third criterion really have to be a part of the equation? Isn't it possible to satisfy the first two criteria with a watch you can actually obtain? To me, the first two criteria go to grail status; if it's obtainable, that doesn't lessen its grailness in my eyes. In fact, if I'm actually able to own my grail, so much the better.

So I'll answer based on the first two criteria. I'm not sure if there is such a watch for me - one that would leave me totally satisfied and never wanting another watch again - but I've often thought if there was, the Rolex Submariner Ceramic is most likely it. That certainly applies among watches currently in production.

:yeahthat . It does not matter how bad I may want a particular watch...if I got it there would still be at least one more that I would lust after.

Me too! Saw that in one of the watch magazines 3 or 4 months ago, stunning!

Cheers

I agree with some of the sentiments above, that owning a grail isn't going to stop me desiring other watches. Plus there are the affordable and non-affordable grails. This is definitely one of the latter and boy do I want one:

Blancpain 1735 Grand Complication:

blancpain-1735.jpg

They say it takes one watchmaker an entire year to make this masterpiece and the watchmaker hand delivers it anywhere in the world once it's done. Wow

I have some other too but as this thread asks for one

Some very nice demonstrations above also.

These threads come up everynow and then and I've given up trying to figure it out. I really don't think that I have one - if someone gave me $1,000,000 and told me to buy some watches I have no idea what I would get - my list of "really like to own that" watches probably adds up to well over $20 million :?

One piece that has been high on my list for a number of years, so I guess qualifies for staying power is the Antoine Preziuso 3volution:
