Post subject:  How to do an overseas trade ?

In my ramblings I have stumbled across my Grail watch.
Problems;
I would like to trade a Rolex gold president w/bling for it but don't have a feel for its REAL current value. How can I get a real market appraisal and not some low-ball offer or crazy high insurance appraisal.
How do I make sure "the grail" is up to spec ? Its in Italy.
And how do these deals get done. Are there escrow dealers for this ?
Any help would be appreciated.

I have read warnings in various forums that escrow dealers should be avoided.

Its supposedly that the Italian postal service leaves much to be desired. Mainly, delivering things to their own houses instead of to the addressee.

I dont know what its worth as I havent checked in years.
By bling I mean Rolex's version of bling; Diamond dial and bezel.
I need to take it to 3 retailers here in Dallas to get a feel for value.

I was in New Orleans a bit ago and went into a Breitling reseller who had two crazy Navitimers just covered in stones.
What a great way to ruin a perfect watch.

I recently experienced my first jewelry store retailer in Grapevine over the weekend. It is sort of an outlet mall and I was saw a Breitling and Rolex sticker on the window. I was amazed at the awful offerings in the case. There were several Lings with the dinner plate bezels, and extra bling. The only two actual OEM Breitling offerings were a Colt and Avenger, but both were filthy.

Anyhow....Good luck with your grail hunt

If that was Grapevine Mills there are no watch stores worth bothering with there unless one is looking for Timexs and Swatchs.
The Big AD's are in Dallas;
deBoulle and Bachendorfs.

A few in FW.
One store in Southlake.
